Well he was an outlaw so what do you expect. He brought all new possibilities to the know-land back then with his exploration too.
It's the same as Grettir the strong, he was an outlaw, yet I'd still like to have been around the same as him.

also, besides there being many outlaws in those days, Leif the lucky was also part of a 'known' family who found various countries and so forth so it would have been interesting (for me atleast) :)
