lcd tv's + movie-advice

Hi folks.
Since a friend of mine wants to buy an lcd tv, he's in need of some professional advice.
He already checked the intrawebs for some special offers, but still his knowledge about lcd tv's is quite limited.

As he told me his budget is limited, the price shouldn't be above 500€.
He also wants to know, if it's worth it to buy this LCD TV?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday I watched 'Lucky Number Slevin' for the first time, was a fantastic movie, dunno how I missed that one. So my question is, could you share some other nice movies to watch? I'd be grateful. Regards.

it's 55" that's ok?
Or is it not just for on your bedroom @ wall?
Parent
The size is good, the price is much more important for him.
Parent
Ok: Samsung LE32S62B
that's the type, price is aroung 450 - 550€ nice quality, take a look at websites for some information about the type.

unless your mate has a true HD source , i.e a blue-ray / hd player or ps3 or a sky HD box, a full HD tv would not really benefit him. the picture quality is superb with dvd's on a normal 1080i tv (1080p is true HD quality for high def tv's, more lines of information on screen = better / higher quality pictures, but like i said, unless you got a true HD signal source, you wouldnt notice the difference)

with a limited budget LG make really good 1080i tv's for about that price range. higher budget, the new samsung series 6 1080p tv's are really good at a decent price just now, plus you can pick the series 5's up at cheap prices now cos well, theyre the "old" models.

oh, and i downloaded "sin city uncut" version, if you aint seen it, its superb :P

i know this is a uk company, but you should be able to get these tv's in europe for the same price of not cheaper? (we get ripped off in the uk for EVERYTHING :( )
