Rage is going to be an EA title:

Anyone else feeling rather unhappy about this, seeing Activision has always seemed to be a good publisher with RTCW and W:ET?

cant see the connection between rage and the wolfenstein series - they want to promote a completly new shooter direction, ea seems to be the best company to help em

Thing is EA is / was (after Activision-Blizzard merge) the biggest publisher around, with the most titles released, yet I don't own any EA game for the PC (That copy of the Sims is my sisters, I swear!). I have played a lot of demos of EA games but none of them were interesting at all. Meanwhile I own a good amount of Activision games (most of them id Software & Star Trek titles), which makes me wonder why I like so many Activision titles and don't like any EA game.

Anyway I found myself an excuse not to like any upcoming id game now ^^

Almost every sportsgame is by Ea. And frankly I like them.

Money is power, so the publisher has plenty of power over a game.

Well i think Activision wants to play to safe nowadays.. (D3, SC2, Guitar hero. Cod5 etc.)
And EA is trying to clear his bad reputation. Rage can be huge or be a huge flop. Lots of risks.

And have a look how much Promotion ETQW got from activision in comparison to COD4. ETQW already had a fanbase. Rage is a brand that needs lots of promotion to be the next Gears of war. EA can give them that.

i dont buy ea stuff either, but im waiting to see how well this game tuns
