Why there is no MP info on RTCW2

Because perhaps they have just started working on it? I just read this press release:

QuoteEndrant Studios opens doors!

Endrant Studios has announced the opening of its doors and its first project - a co-development partnership with Raven Software and Activision Blizzard on id Software's upcoming Wolfenstein game.

"Our goal is to make exciting, fun and accessible games that translate to the masses," said Ben Smedstad, creative director and co-owner. "Our backgrounds and experience enable us to be more creative, more focused and deliver a higher quality game no matter what the platform."

Endrant Studios is based outside London in Sevenoaks, Kent.

"The pool of talent in the UK was the driving force behind us choosing to set up in England," said Neil Postlethwaite, managing director and co-owner. "Although the incentives in other countries were tempting, the experience and talent available in the UK is what kept us here."

On Wolfenstein, Endrant will be focusing primarily on multi-player development.

Originally Threewave were supposed to make the MP for the upcoming Wolfenstein title, perhaps they have been replaced by EndRant, or EndRant is working on downloadable content or something like that.

Also interesting to know is that EndRant also houses some of the former SplashDamage employees who worked on W:ET and ET:QW.

always bringing the good news eh ?
where is the SP info?
Nerve->3W->FAIL or maybe new talants?

edit after splashdamage infoz
Nerve worked on MP quite long, moved to another project.
Then game Threewave and finished the maps
No Endrant will finish the job?

This is how I see it, it's not like 3Wave and Nerve worked on the same area. Also, I bet Nerve laid out the basics quite far, and taking ex-SD guys to finish it up isn't a bad choice.

never heard of them
They officially opened today, so that's why I guess :P
Parent
Some guys from Splashdamage that left and founded this new venture.
Parent
I thought that Nerve was originally working on the multiplayer?
they resigned from the job, they decided to work on xbox games in stead
threewave took their place
Parent
Any source to this?

Quote"- id Software is producing, Raven Software is developing the singleplayer part and part of the multiplayer, while Threewave Software is contributing to the multiplayer part only. Earlier on in development Nerve was going to develop the multiplayer, as in RTCW. But it is not going to be like that, anymore, as they have been reassigned to work on the 360 version of Quake Wars (and maps for the PC and PS3 versions as well)."

Yeah.. but the source for that, they have read it somewhere and phrased in their own words. It might distort things too you know. On the same page:

QuotePeople should keep in mind, however, that the multiplayer portion of RTCW was created by Nerve Software in just 4 months!!! With RTCW 2 having been in development for over 3 years (4 this year), the singleplayer part should soon be near completion.

Quote by Endrant StudiosOur first project is currently under a tarpaulin in a lock-up somewhere in England. It’s really secret, and we’re looking forward to telling you more about it soon. Be patient. :D What we can say is that we are working with Activision on a triple-A title with an IP that is well-known and loved.

nice website they got btw!
I also heard they will be opening a studio on Mars in 2055: http://195.157.98.219/oa/delivery/afr.php?n=a1a4b7f7&zoneid=232

QuoteA job posting submitted recently (28th of May 2008) on JobSeeker by Threewave Software (developer of RTCW 2's multiplayer) reveals that the company has "recently finished the multiplayer maps on Touchstone’s Turok, EA’s Army of Two and Activision’s new Wolfenstein game".

i have no idea what to say. creating maps without basic gameplay concept would sound stupid.
Stupid but it happens, for example SplashDamage made the multiplayer maps for Doom 3...
Parent
i seriously hope it's just about maps. the game is supposed to be far in development already...
Parent
actually they probably ment "finished" as "throwing the whole job in the trashcan" :<
Parent
That would be my guess
Parent
ye, they've got to do console multiplayer as well ...
sounds silly, Threewave is an 80+ men studio, Raven 150+ men...

Did I mention Threewave are not listed on the Wolfenstein website and another yet unrevealed company is?

http://wolfenstein.com/

Pi studios worked on games such as CoD: UO together with Gray Matter.
Parent
if it plays like quake then i'm happy and do not care what silly xbox owners experience

Have I mentioned my parents are getting back together again
It's been 25 years
Of spreading infection
Parent

Parent
:)) sorry buddy
Parent
No problem ^^
Parent
i'm almost sure that Pi is working on console multiplayer. still dunno about Endrant. perharps Endrant works on the ps3 and Pi works on the xbox360?
Parent
I thought that Threewave was making the maps or so.
They have finished the maps already. Some of these Endrant guys worked at Splashdamage previously.

"Also interesting to know is that EndRant also houses some of the former SplashDamage employees who worked on W:ET and ET:QW."

Source?
(20:11:55) (@jRAD) a few guys from SD spun off from us a few months ago to form EndRant
said a senior programmer at SD on IRC today
Parent
Expected something like this! Couldn't find anything elsewhere about this.

Now the game is doomed!!!1 ... No, wait. It is wolfensteined!!1
Parent
Why would they release a teaser and probably announce it in a few weeks at quakecon when the MP is not even ready?
Sorry for the late reaction, but if planned right the MP can be done really quickly, with RTCW for example, nerve started working on it six months before it was released.
Parent
Mhm, sorry too for the late reaction but when u will think it will be released then? Christmas? Next year in june? It has to be one of those 2 periods I guess.
Most of the SP is probably ready and if its true what you're saying that MP don't take too long (alltho games now take more time: graphics and stuff...) then maybe we can see it at christmas already. Would be great.
Parent
</3 the mp will atleast have good maps
