Electric drumset

Buying myself an electric drumset for practise at home in a month or two. I have a few I might just consider buying (played 2 of them), but I'd also like to see some suggestions from you guys :)

I had these in mind:

Roland TD 6 KX - € 1.749,-

Yamaha DTXpress 4 SPECIAL - € 1.399,-

That one was really great to play on, plus it had some great feautures on the drumcomputer. I might just buy that one if I get no other suggestions ^^

Tbh, electric drums suck hard.
have 3 drumsets myself already, but cant practise at home atm since its too noisy, so they are all at several bands I'm in. Want to prac at home though, preferably every day, for which an electric drumset is perfect. Just plug in the headset and play :)

don't u have a big house for urself?
Parent
nope, mom and sister are moving out to big house, im staying here in the flat :)
Parent
why were u banned? :O
even though i understand the situation, i have to say ...

IT LOOKS SO FUCKING GAY & LAME OMFG!!!
Nah, it's really awesome actually dude :P You just press record, play your shit, and then you listen to your own record again and it sounds like albumquality, you know how awesome that is! :D

Won't use it for live anyways ^^

ikno ikno ...
A friend of mine is a drummer also, his band has their 1st demo almost done, they only can't find some place to record drums properly :D

Just throw two microphones @ ur drumset, one at the top between the toms, put that on lowpitch high bass, the second one IN your bassdrum and put that on medium pitch medium bass, make sure the microphone in the bassdrum is covered by a dishcloth image: thumbnail_0_343875b7c3db529a82c53bf9aa3fea8d

When you've recorded the drums, give it a "fill" effect on your audioediting software, so it looks like the drums are everywhere when listening the records, that way you get professional drums in your records ;)

Parent
tbh its cool, you can play africans etc..
Parent
That's a lot of money :o
This is the middleclass -.-' For a professional electric drumset you can pay 7000 euro's :SSS
Parent
you don't have a clue how much drums cost :e my last acoustic set was a bit over 3000e. that was indeed very good one, but the best are more like 6000e or so.
Parent
waste more money pls..
we have cheaper good ones in the shop :P
rly? where? what shop?

Yamaha DTXpress 4 SPECIAL - € 1.399,-

Are you telling me you spend your money to buy this electric drumset, instead of going to Wacken?
Roland > *

You can't find a digital drumset with better or more realistic feeling "skins" than ones from Roland :>
join my band afterward
Why electric drums not teh normal ones? ;o
already have 3 normal ones but cant prac with them @ home (too loud for neighbours)
Parent
Oh, I see.. It's just that electric drums somehow remind me of 1970 - 1980 years and pretty much retarded music :D If I remember correctly, You were playing something more like metal things ^^
Parent
electric drums != electric drumset. An electric drumset is like a normal drumset, only then with headphones and digitally powered (sounds the same @ headset / speakers, feels the same, etc etc).

electric drums are generated by a drum-pc / synthesizer, which is what you are talking about ^^
Parent
ah, ok, that explains everything ;x
Parent
I've kx+extra crash+pearl eliminator doublepedal. it's very decent set when you just get used to it instead of acoustic ones.
got any price / pics / specs?
Parent
I paid for the kit only 1400e, extra crash 65e (electric symbals are A BIT cheaper than real ones :D) and 330€ for pedals.

sucks buy second hand and you to old to learn to play now, unless you already have z skill
been on tv when I was 12 and got feautured in a few newspapers back then as the top3 of my age catagory, so ye, u can say I have some skillz ^^ (got a dutch newspaper article to prove it! :P)

just cant prac every day now, which is what I want since I want to make music my business. Currently praccing 3 times a week, wanna make that 7 times a week ;)
Parent
nice dude! but try to find a second hand one, lot of kids buy them but dont have time/talent needed and sell
Parent
actually i would like to see that

edit: also, whats wrong with... pads... im not sure on the technical term but I my ex who had a drumkit used them to practice... probably not that great but... well i guess it depends what you want to spend your money on
Parent

Parent

Parent
td12 is so much more advanced than the previous ones...
Never go for a budget set when it comes to drums, no matter what.
