Rapidshare speeds:<

Lately my speeds per file have been rather low at around 200kb or so, and If I put on a second and third file it will download at the same speed around 200kb, Is this a rapidshare problem? maybe one of the servers?

I don't want to pm them in case they cancel my account, I don't think it's my connection either since I can still download up to my max speed about 700kb

Is this premium or? The more files you download at once, the less your speed will be. If you're free they've restriced the download speeds a lot. Max I can get on free is 50-100kb/s. I've given up and switched to MU, I have download-speeds varying from 400kb to 1.6mb/s. Rapidshare became shit with all the sudden changes.

this is on premium, and I know that the speed will slow with the more downloads I have but one file should be able to download at near 700kb, but instead the max it will do is about 200kb

Well it varies for me a lot to. Could be your connection as well as the RS servers, how long have you been downloading at that speed? I've just given up on RS, plenty of MU links out there.

premium account should give u your providers max dl speed mate...thats why rs is so popular. If its lower, it isnt a prob of rs, but maybe your provider is limiting the route to rs servers.

check it out, I know for a fact that some uk providers are starting to get arsey about this, maybe the case I dunno.......

I loved my private torrents @ 500-1mb/s. Maybe you define them "retarted" but I didn't mind them at all, the only reason I switched to RS was because there was some 'rare' stuff uploaded to it and Warez are pretty useful to find roughly everything.

i used to love private ftp fills with speeds up to 6mb/s but that's just cause i had access to them! most people who aren't involved in the scene don't have the luxury of those ftps or private trackers so RS is a godsend to the whole internet community!

and tbh i still get 3mb/s with RS

Yeah private ftp's were awesome. I got out of the 'scene' though and now the only thing I have left is RS. It's definetly not a "godsend", it was. It changed to much, I miss the old RS.DE with awesome speeds and no limit at all (Well there was but I didn't have much troubles with it). I wish I had those kind of speeds... Telenet or?

Well I never said I disrespect it, I loved it for a long time. I just lost interest in it because of the slow speeds I'm having, even with a premium.

Nice conversation, been a long time I had one like this one Crossfire :P.

btw MU looks like a good alternative but so far i only saw movies (mostly HD 720p, 1080p etc) on it

is it worth the change? don't have to pay for RS anyway since my points are enough to keep a free premium account for the next 5 years :p

Is rapidshare really better than torrents? I only use it for random links that people throw around, and I find it a pain to use.

Past few days when downloading app store apps I've bin having lower than 100kb/s on RS, which sucks.

well torrents require you to upload too and are based on how many other people are seeding (uploading) the file to you, which results in unstable and crappy speeds

problem is that rare stuff isnt that good seeded most of the time. and for almost all decent trackers u need to be invited anyway.

6mb ntl should actually be on 20mb but there not upgrading it till 7 of August or something now although my upload is at 1.5mb now
