metal gear solid - confusion?

hey my sweet mates.

can anyone explain to me how to play the mgs games chronologicaly?

i mean the first one ive already played is "metal gear solid" for ps1... but whats the next now? "mgs2 sons of liberty" or "mgs2 substance"? Oo
same prob with the 3rd sequel, "mgs3 snake eater" or "mgs3 ubsistence" ? Oo

substance is the same game with extra videos, making of and stuff like that, doesn't have anything to do with the story

The very first ones are the Metal Gear games, then the Metal Gear Solid games, first 1, then Sons of Liberty, then Snake Eater.

the substance version always came out after the actual releases of the game.
They just have some extra mission shit (VR missions if i remember correctly)

That's true. The VR missions adds way more gameplay to the game. Next to the VR-missions you have in MGS2: Substance also the snake story were you play snake's part of the story in Sons of Liberty.

agree! :) ... in my opinion gta III is still the best game of the series and mgs4 is the only real "masterful" game on ps3 (i luuuuv it :D)
