sony vaio

im completely out of ideas with this problem.

i have a sony vaio that got reformatted. ive installed all the drivers (sony give u a factory bundle on their website) incl. mobo again.

but the video drivers just will not work. its an nvidia geforce fx chip, and either drivers install and just dont do anything or i get an error that says could not locate any drivers compatible etc..

ive tried:

sony's driver bundle - gives me a folder with no setup files, just dlls :/
nvidia's official forceware (that has my card model in supported list)
omega nvidia drivers

nothing has worked. some have installed but on computer restart, just sit in some folder without actually working. google has got me this far

completely stuck. halp please !

Make sure your gfx-fan is still working, that your gfx-card is connected properly, and that your gfx-card isn't just broken ^^
it was working fine this morning before the format

fans are spinning

Ah ok, changes things.

Have you already tried resetting your BIOS, or just uload your cmos by unloading your cmosbattery for 10 minutes?

Maybe your gfxcard needs to be detected first by your motherboard drivers, which is the case with many prebuilt pc's. In that case, just install the newest mobo drivers ;)

if google fails how can u expect someoen on cf to help you? :s
done all of the vaio updates?
ye, except not all of them have install files

im guessing this is because i did an XP format of the pc rather than a vaio self recovery (this wasnt working)

First install the mobo drivers then the video card drivers.
LE: Those DLL's should have some .inf files near them. Go to add new hardware and chose the manual installation option and them "have disk" and select thne .inf files.
bad drivers imo
E*what is the model of this vaio ?
already seen that page with no luck, but thanks anyway
