id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead confirms that while the strike did delay the project, Roger Avary ("The Rules of Attraction") is presently working on the script for a film version of classic video game "Return to Castle Wolfenstein."
The WWII-set 'Wolfenstein' revolves around U.S. Army Ranger B.J. Blazkowicz, who leads a team of agents into Castle Wolfenstein in order to investigate the Nazis' SS Paranormal Division. Avary is also attached to direct the project.
Hollenshead explains to Eurogamer that "with the writer's strike it took so long to get underway and Roger Avary, the writer, had a commitment that was in line before working the Wolfenstein stuff, but I've recently been in contact with Roger and he's actually working on the script right now."
