the first one
no one :S

why 20'' anyway?
I fear that the likes of 16' are simply too small, am I wrong?
Parent
small is good for people who like to go with their notebooks to the uni or elsewhere.
Parent
I'm planning it on using it for uni yes, a friend recommended me this one :

It's in dutch yes but if you scroll down ( a lot ) you'll see the specs.
Parent
take a look at the toshiba p300 series, also represented in that laptopshop
Parent
the videocard looks a bit weak
Parent
I got 15.4" :)
Parent
if you are using it with school as main purpose I would buy a smaller, less heavy notebook.

I worked with 12" laptops which is till pretty do able, but you got to get used to the bit smaller keys. But 15,4" seems perfect for me, still fits easily in a normal backpack (eastpack or whtevr) and aren't too heavy.

17" + sized notebooks are so oversized, atleast I wouldn't want to carry such huge thing with me.
Parent
Mmm... have you ever seen a 20" laptop irl? They are soooooo huge. I wouldn't go over 17" on a laptop, anything more and I think you lose the portability... and without the portability its useless having a laptop :|

You could always buy a second monitor to sit at home and plug in whenever you are there with your laptop.
Parent
20" omg.. a bit too large unless you have a cordless keyboard or anti-eyecancer-serum

if i had that much money and i was willing to spend it on a laptop efficient enough to run some games too, my choice would be Asus G-50.. :)
Check my reply on Anqu, a better choice?
Parent
yes, i believe that'd be quite decent choice too.. if you're using it working on schoolstuff @ uni, you should get a laptop which can run more than just an one hour with its battery.. On the other hand if you want to have some power & performance, you should find an optimal balance on the specs. If you're going to use it more on studying and stuff you should really get a notebook with a long-life battery. You can always upgrade your PC to run the latest games and stuff. It's a difficulty finding the best option and balance between the needs.
Parent
Tnx for your answer, it helped me made up my mind.

I'll only use my laptop to make notes at uni, to study, watch movies, and to play some fm2008/warcraft 3 on it once I reach my student dorm ( where I can just plug in my laptop ).
Parent
maybe it's better to buy an pc for gaming and an laptop for working. A decent pc isn't that expenive, and a notebook with slow hardware has better batteries. There are notebooks which batteries end after 2hours.
Parent
so which one did you end up buying?

This one, seems to be a decent choice plus it's already going to be delivered tomorrow ( with a free bag to put it in, pretty neat )

Tnx again btw :)
Parent
yes it's better than just a "decent" choice :)
