core2duo temps

can someone give me the temps of their E6xxx series c2d, idle and load? or if anyone is knowledgeable on the subject, can give me a "danger" temperature, at which point the cpu should be disabled?

got a friend who is getting ~50 idle and ~85 load... (according to coretemp) which... seems like a serious problem

Haha Meez, you're such a nerd.
Ask perfo (Ha)
Meez seriously go outside and get some plastic surgery, your face kinda looks like a horse.
i got the same problem.
my pc turned of during every game because my cpu went to warm.
i switched the cooler and now it s working.
(the pc danger temp of my pc was 70°C)
have same problem.

A serious problem indeed.
What if one day it blew up in his face. Yeah! That would be pretty serious...

It would also be fucking hilarious so I'd have to avoid his family for a while.

this shit is GRILLLINGG!!
max temp is about 70
Try Realtemp:
http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

If the temperature is still the same, tell him/her to look if he/she has placed the processor cooler correct.

That load temperature is already in the danger zone. If the current processor cooler is placed correctly, try an aftermarket cooler. Also tell him/her to make sure that there is a good airflow in the case. Last, tell him/her to load the bios default settings.
43 idle
77/71 load

:<

guess we'll try refitting the cooler, with new thermal paste

Ok. Realtemp is the most reliable right now. Tell me what the temps are after refitting. Also make sure you clean the cooler and processor good.

hmm i always use hwmonitor, it shows my both cores are 40 now, realtemp shows 35/34 :/ (e6750 G0 @ stock)
Parent
Thats hot.
~40° idle / ~64° load
E6750 @3.6GHz
mine is a bit colder
Parent
Yep, it's 30°+ in my room, so the CPU is a bit cooler usually :)
Parent
my E6600 is at 30°
I played with 80° for 15 minutes with my q6600, stable.. still it's not really healthy so I guess the max temp should be around 90. Stock INTEL coolers suck btw
30 @ idle / work

55 at etqw

63 @ rendering encoding
Coretemp sucks tbh.
E6750 @ 26 C idle 35 C load
your cpu will never ever die due to built-in mechanisms which keep it from overheating and other shit. even whilst playing around with the voltage I couldn't manage to kill the cpu. might be connected with me having a good mainboard.

oh yeah, temps are around room-temp idle and 40-50 load. (celsius)
you could try using it for baking eggs or smth.
