Parent
What camera did you use?
Parent
Some shitty Fuji s9000.
well, it's not shitty, but I gotta stick with it until Christmas time :D
Parent
Which one are you gonna get?

Edit: Much better camera than mine :)))
Parent
Canon EOS 450D with lens kit + Sigma 150-500mm lens :)))
Parent
if you wait for Christmas, D90 will be out then and more attractive cameras than the 450D.
(I'm a D80 owner)
Parent
I'm not a Nikon guy :D
+ I got various lens from my Canon 35mm cameras I own so can use them too!
Parent
as i said, not only nikon but all the companies release all their models @ photonika which is soon, even a replacement for the 40D is coming soon so its your change to see the prices drop.
Parent
I heard the green colourtones are strangely saturated sometimes (only a little bit though) :<
Parent
D60 owner inhere! :p
nice pics btw Panda, got some at flickr too
Parent
I did so many research and came up with Nikon ahead, the difference isn't big, but from what I've heard you'll hear more of Nikon within the (bigger) photo industry
Parent
Thankyou

Ain't you the guy who takes pictures @ LAN also? If so what flash (if any) are you using?
Parent
Yeah, links are in profile (I toke them with the Olympus E-300 back then, got my own SLR now, CDC5 will be the first event with it ;D)
I've only used (the built-in) flash at the ceremony, rest was without
Parent
Very nice camera, but 700€ :<

You doing this as a hobby or are you going to do it somewhat professional?
Parent
Quite reasonable for that camera :P
It's an expensive hobby (like most are!) but just trying to get in the photography business some way or another and getting my name out :]
Parent
Nice, gl :)

Parent

or make it black myself ofc :D
Parent
I'll find the original later if you want so you can use without the border :>
Parent
that would be realy nice :D
Parent
you have pic 4 (waterfall) in a bigger size?
Parent
@ what size?
Parent
1280x800 would be purrfect
Parent

Have fun shooting!

as you already know, i <3 them pics.

HF @ Cinema
impressive
impressive pictures!
<3 waterfalls
very nice to watch
true :)
upload has finished at flickr, the ones at the bottom are from last weekend which are taken with S since it's impossible to follow those fishes with M! :P
Simple question: How much are not too pro, but yet above average cameras? I've always bee nfairly interested in getting a proper one, but didn't have the spare money for one so far but that might change some time soon.
Parent
you're talking about an SLR right now I assume
it actually depends what you're going to do with it, for what purposes will you buy one
just as a hobby or for professional purposes, and if so, within which domain? if you're for example interested in macro shooting, you'll spend most of the money on (expensive!) lenses, good SLR body's are starting from 450€ (don't forget lenses/sunhoods/uv filters etc) so it actually is in your hands what it eventually will cost :)
Parent
The camera I use is pretty cheap, going for £200 here
Parent
Damn some ugly fish there :D
I usually shoot in shutter priority if I'm working on moving subjects, but if I got time with things, I try to play in manual so I can set my own aperture too.
Also depends if I'm having a lazy day too :{

some nice architecture stuff you have ^^
Parent
thx, flash wasn't even allowed inside aquatopia but still you could see people flashin with their digicams :x
Parent
:{
A little tip I was give once was that when you shoot stuff through glass, place your lens up against it to stop the surrounding light/reflections.
Just need to make sure you have a clean window :P
Parent
yes but the glass reflection wasn't the only problem :p
the water was also hazy and last but not least the fishes which are a pain in the ass when it comes to taking pics :p
Parent
are those taken with dslr?

edit: nvm, read it up
Birdge camera :)
The main thing that separates it from a DSLR is you cannot change the lens :(
Parent
you suck
thorn, dragonfly and last waterfall are epic
Whats so hard in makeing photos in the nature ? Its more difficult to fuck up anyway.. just my opinion

most probably you use an expansive camera so you just shoot 10 pictures from different angles and with different settings and at home you can choose the right one that you like, so its really overrated.

Of course they are good pictures no problem I like them.
true, with a proper camera it's relatively easy if you have a good eye, I had the pleasure of playing around with olympus e-3 a bit, the camera is a beast, unluckily I don't have the photos as my hdd died
Parent
My current camera cost me £300 2 years ago, they go for a lot less now.
Every time I go out shooting I take 100-300 shots, depending on the day/location, and even then I may not be impressed with any of them because the lighting may not be right, generally a bad day etc.
All trial and error :)
Parent
Jeh so I was right. Well I like photos but i hate when somebody call it an art like painting.. its nothing near to it.

What camera would you suggest to me to buy some best performance / price ?
Parent
Depends on what you want to shoot I guess.
I'd recommend my camera or the next model up to quite a few people who are after something like a DSLR but not as expensive. And my photos are an example of something that /could/ be achieved.
I think this is good, but for another £150 ontop of that you can get the 450D which is even better. Don't know about Nikon though as I don't use them, but these are popular :>
this is the next model up from mine, which supposed to be good :>
Parent
thank you

How close is the closest focus distance with that canon (that is not blured) ?
Parent
I dont get it if you have that canon why you buy that fujifilm is there any dirrerence ?
Parent
I have the fuji, but getting the canon 450D :P
Parent
I would've taken a closer look at them if you didn't say you need the hits.

EDiT: Clicked on them aynways, they looked too tempting :(
nice photos, I am looking into getting the EOS 40D or maybe the 450, talking to a professional photographer from time to time just to get his thoughts, waiting til I need see him.

I may wait longer reading about this 'photonika' event, if prices drop = good. :)
