check esr demos archive for some cpm demos if you have q3

chasing a weak opponent should be the main focus of a duel game, while the way to win a vq3 duel is to get a few frags lead and then just maintain that difference by collecting armors, mh, weapons while spamming in the general direction of the opponent producing an extra frag here and there.

in promode you maintain the difference by gaining more frags and getting them quicker, as the tides can turn in the matter of seconds (good position from the opponent can get you fraged even if youre 200 200, a few quick respawn frags arent anything special)

i was actually thinking about writing a column comparing vq3 to cpm dueling, but never got motivated enough

this might be me that doesn't understand your point but the main focus in duel games is to win, not to chase weak opponents, that is just a playstyle. some players just get 2 kills and then +back for the rest of the map

ye and thats why i like cpm. backing all the time cant win matches at a top level. in et for instance, some players were playing badplace getting a frag and then prone or crouch next to the medpack rack for the rest of the match. some people might call this smart, but i call it stupid. it might win the game but who wants to waste their time doing that. it doesnt prove skill and its no fun.
