Wanted a ranged non spell caster, but i was thinking more of end game when i made a hunter. Since i'd rather not tank, and i've already got a resto druid on deathknell. My alt on retail will prolly be a mage though.
But yeah, still, in my short experience of dungeons and raids, I don't think Hunter is the most useful class, not dps, not tank, not healer, not caster, but then again my knowledge of WoW isn't that wide, so I might be plain wrong
Also, hunters can be used for cc and kiting adds in dungeons aswell as pulling mobs from a safe distance and can feign death if he fucks it up.
Although, hunters are still viable in pvp for slowing and keeping melee away from the healers etc.. it's not the best in arena.. but can still manage to work.
