Journal Feature Request

A "Solved" or "Hide" function for journals that no longer have any discussion/value. Eg, the one right below mine, http://www.crossfire.nu/?x=journal&mode=item&id=65324

It's answered straight away so nothing else is really going to happen there apart from the usual spam, why not give users the option to "hide" the journal from the sidebar (in the "Admin, Edit, Delete" menu) so that the journal stays in the archive and can still be searched etc, only it does not clutter the recent journals list!

It's called admins - they should delete them
I think some things should be left in the DB so they can be searched for and avoid reposts.

Maybe also add a warning to the journal post page, "Please use the search function before asking a question" or similar!

Nah - others might have a similar problem :O)

Archive > delete

Journals are posted _that_ often how many times is this really an issue? .o/

agree. a [solved]-like tag would make browsing/searching more efficient (provided that people would actually use it).
this isnt wikipedia.org

(adding tags to an article to change settings in stead of text markup)
Parent
huh? didn't even know that they used such tags on wikipedia. i know the system from ubuntuforums.org; it works well there as it helps users determine whether their questions have already been answered, or whether they should create a new thread (journal) to ask for help.

even though support questions are less frequent here, i don't see why this site couldn't benefit from a similar system.
