theDamned - problem...

Hey!

I'm trying again after a long time to get theDamned.exe working but it always gives me error: 0xc0000022 - permission error or smth. Anyways i have administrator and i also tried to modify and give write/read permission to everyone that logs on my pc to file msvbvm60.dll but sadly no changes. It keeps reporting that error.

what the hell would you want to use the damned for ? just regedit, hkeycurrentuser>controlpanel>mouse and you can change the same settings as you could in the damned ...

I don't know exactly what it does so, a friend of mine recomanded it to me.

go into your windows registry and change the following keys:
hkey_current_user > control panel > mouse

Mousesensitivity 10
Mousespeed 0
MouseThreshold1 0
MouseThreshold2 0

You might want to change the mousesensivity (=windows mouse sensitivity) but in theory sticking to 10 should be the best. Opening regeditor is done by Start > execute > 'regedit'

Tites says there are about 5 different settings that u can't get in ur mousepannel

Its a long tutorial, basically you want to kill the accel by doing the stuff i wrote above, run the accelfix for windows, and put your mouserate to 500hz.

I couldn't find

MouseThreshold1 0
MouseThreshold2 0

in controlpanel > mouse

edit: I experience another in-game feeling if I change those settings in thedamned than just disabling accel and using hz switcher

Ye well actually it was quite obvious that raziel didn't invent some kind of "new mouse settings" but switching your mouse settings is easier/faster with TheDamned. But yes, it's not necessary to have the software.

I dont think anyone still uses it ... the proggy was nice for rtcw but its seriously outdated x'D Besides, the whole guide is outdated and anyone using settings different from 10-0-0-0 or 10-1-6-10 (windows default) is a nutcase. You basicly set up your mouse to have three gears, doubling the mousespeed everytime you exceed a certain speedlimit.
