There were 19 survivors, including two infants, Development Minister Magdalena Alvarez said.

Accident investigators have begun examining the wreckage of a plane that crashed at Madrid's Barajas airport, leaving 153 passengers dead.

They will also start to analyse the flight data and voice recorders, which have both been recovered.

Three days of official mourning have been declared in Madrid, as relatives arrive at a makeshift mortuary in the capital to identify bodies.

sorry guys, this happened in my city (Madrid), and I know people who died on the disaster :((((((((((((((((

I guess if it was a crash on land the survivors were probably at the back of the plane because if the plane nosedived the back of the plane pulls the least G's.

Kinda like if you jump you feel it in your feet and not in your head.

Well, there are many facts:

-those planes are too old, so they need to be checked every flight(airport somewhere rules).
-Nobody checked nothing before the plane started to fly.
-The flight had to start at 13:00, but they noticed some problems and they changed flight time into 14:25. The accident was at 14:40 approximately.
-The accident was caused by one of the engine fail(and that caused the fire).
-Some stewardess(the girl who give you some meal when you are in the plane) recognized that she had many many trouble with that plane(many types of fail).
-I'm sure now they will change all the old planes to new ones, but they are too idiots so they want to wait that something like that happens.
