E8500 is overpriced.
And get a 4850 or something. The 8600GT sucks
8400
HD4850
4gb
Corsair HX 650W
random 40€ case
sound card for 110€ wtf?

AND WTF WITH PRICES?
E8500 is like 165€
take a 8800gts
if you're going to buy E8500 just change it to E8400 .. alot cheaper and as good as 8500 ..
use the 'saved' money to buy nvidia 8800gts instead of 8600.. its not even expensive atm. (ati hd4870 recommended)
if he does that he saves about 10euros so not worth of it imo. but ofc if he is poor like a children basicly are then ofc he should do that and buy lollipops with that 10e.and i know you are going to whine me ofsomething so i just paste here the prices..
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500, prosessori alinhinta :149€ keskihinta :167 €
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, prosessori alinhinta :137€ keskihinta :154 €

core2duo E8400 ~150€ = 159€ savings :-D

and just OC teh e8400 to 4Ghz or something and you got powerful nice set =) (you could ofc spend like 50€ for more cooling)
Parent
Ati HD4850 or HD4870 is the way to go, nvidia 8800 is low these day's.
buy better vid card and a cheaper soundcard

windows xP xD
Parent
i think xp is in these days like old moskovitch, works fine but few leaks and rost etc (if you know what i mean ;)) so if you are going to buy that kind of rocket you should "buy" x64 vista.

- Nvidia GeForce 8600GT - 512mb - 72e

???
at least you got a nice soundcard!
Rubbish. You don't need an e8500 or 4GB RAM

- Intel Core 2 Duo E8200
- 2GB Ram BRANDED
- Nvidia GeForce 260 GTX / 280 GTX
- OCZ stealthXstream 600W powersupply - 65e
- Recom Zenith Cooling Case - 89e

Scrap the e8500 for an e8200, and also scrap the Sound card. With the spare money, get a Nvidia 260 GTX or a 280 GTX. Think about it, will you get better gaming performance with an E8500 + 8600 GT + 4GB RAM (64bit gtfo) or E8200 + 280 GTX + 2GB RAM?

EDIT: That PSU is fine for a 280 GTX, however you will need an adapter for 2 PCI-E cables, which should come with the graphics card. (The PSU only has 1). Also note, the E8200 can be overclocked to 3.2GHz with the stock cooler and still achieve recommended temperatures.

Wherever you are buying this from, you are getting seriously ripped off. An e8500 for £245? :D
motherboard includ ed
Parent
Which motherboard?
Parent
I dont know so much about computers in general, but the things you listed there, is that enough to make a pc work excluding the parts that I have, dvd / hdd etc
Parent
Yes. Also galiptaR is right what he said. Get an E8400
Parent
Dont u need a motherboard than, if U buy that e8400 - it says on the site that its perfect for a 775 socket motheboard but isnt that the expensivest?
Parent
Of course you need a motherboard. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/144227 is fine for your setup. It is 42.38 in euros, which still works out alot cheaper than the E8500 bundle.

Basically, for your setup look for a motherboard which supports

- LGA 775 for Core™ 2 Duo (all core 2 duos are Socket LGA 775)
- Compatible with FSB1333 (speed bewtween CPU and Motherboard)
- PCI-E x16 slot (This is for the graphics card)
- Supports DDR2 800/667/533 (memory speed)
- ATX form (basically the physical size of the motherboard)
Parent
So :

Intel core 2 Duo E8400
That motherboard from the link u gave me or a similiar one
Ati radeon HD4870
the powersupply + some fans
the case

and my dvd readers / hdd,s etc is enough for a whole PC ?
Parent
Yep, thats right. Though you may want to get a Nvidia 280 GTX instead of the ATI. Check Google to compare which one has better gaming performance, although they should be around the same.

Please check my edit for the previous post. The motherboard I suggested only supports memory with speed or 667 max. Get one which supports 800.
Parent
I did, thanks alot man U really helped me out here

Parent
Will that give me 125 fps stable on cod4 and et?
Parent
i bought this myself and im having amazing performances. which even improved when i installed a newer driver. (ET is 250fps stable without cb config)
haven't tried COD4 since i dont play it, but it handeled crysis on everything high so dont think it will have trouble with cod4

and also, dont buy 4GB of ram if your not a 64bits user.
buying a good set of 2GB will get you almost the same performance and save you money

also dont buy a soundcard.
Parent
Also when looking for RAM, make sure it's branded and isn't a "value" type. I suggest the brand to be Corsair or OCZ. The speed should be 800MHz, also known as PC2-6400.
Parent
E8400 is 10€ more than E8200 nowadays and 4GB is more future proofed than difference between HD4850 and GTX280. HD4870 is totally enough and maybe even a little bit overpowered for him. But i agree with BRANDED
Parent
Don't you need a 64bit OS to run 4GB? If so, there are loads of software/driver compatibility issues. Dunno about ATI vs Nvidia, mabye some reviews should help there.
Parent
3.25GB @ 32-bit Windows XP and i said future proofed
Parent
It's not future proof since there is DDR3. Will be less than a year before the prices are affordable like the DRR2 memory at the moment.
Parent
aye but most def he won't buy a new PC in one year + u will be forced to buy a new mobo, new CPU and ram running on ddr3
Parent
8800 GT plox not 8600, crap card
dfi lan party p35
intel core2duo e8400
4gb OCZ ram
ATI 4870
680W BFG PSU

790euros
E8500 => E8400
8600GT => HD4850 (AMD > nVidia atm)
Soundcard is useless.
retarded choice (imo)
