warps and slowdown :(

Hello,

I cleaned my PC today, hoovered the cooler and now when I plugged everything in, system works normally at first glance, but if I launch ET, I've got 20-30fps, highly unplayable. Normally I've got jumping fps but its playable, around 50-70fps and without 3-second blinks...

What may be the problem? Everything seems to work, I dont get it. Every RAM cartridge is plugged and working, system indicates 1GB RAM - just like it should be... Maybe processor?

I know you cant know the answer from the info I gave you, but I want you to tell me some possibilities -> what should I check etc...

hmm try to unplug them and plug them again.. i guess its not sitting in the right position and we cant guess what part is sitting wrong..

btw my problem with fps is my virus scanner doing stuff while I think it was off :<

ctrl alt + del -> processes and just shut down the useless thingies who knows it might be that :$

i got the same when i tried to overclock my processor, maybe it helps :p

but they are installed. how can be that one day they work fine, next they suck? :-)
but well, reinstalling might help - will surely try :)
