I'm going to buy a new PC and the "Best Buy Guide" of www.tweakers.net just got released! I'm going for the high-end gamesystem which will cost me around 1300euros.
I'll give you the specs. Please tell me if you know by experience/heard from others, what should be better/replaced by other stuff!
SPECS:
Antec Performance One P182 Zwart
Antec TruePower Quattro 850, 850W
Club3D HD4870 X2
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
Lite-On LH-20A1S
OCZ Reaper OCZ2RPR800C44GK 4GB (2x 2GB) DDR2
OCZ Vendetta 2
Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ, 1TB
Only comment if you've got enough knowledge please! The first question that came in my mind was why they chose for the duocore and not the quadcore?

that dualcore probly even has more cache then a quad for the same price, making it even faster...clock speed, cache, RAM and ur gfx itself are important, not the amount of cores.
but getting a good quad(equal clock and cache as the dualcore version) will still cost him way more... though it is the future.
Also then why not get a better mobo with DDR3 capabilities.
edit: I had some bad experience with Gigabyte and dont rly know any overclocker who would dare to get gigabyte instead of asus... its been a while though and things change pretty fast, Ati is getting ahead of nVidia, but Intel still dominates AMD. dunno about gigabyte and asus.
Age: 20 but you look like a kid. bibuy
Besides you are the one with the warning points and the retarded profile... dumbass
fo
And twat.
also i personally prefer to use 6-8 gb of ram with vista x64 - it provides good performance and excellent stability
also i had on my pc quad-core and i don't have any problems with performance - however when choosing core2duo i suggest taking e8600.
dual vs quad core - quad will give you more performance in the future, while dual now. choose what is more important to you ;)
edit: also asus motherboard are best, better take this instead of gigabyte (however gigabyte is not so bad)
dualcores still have better price/quality overall
Though the lack of cache with the 800 mhz fsb models sucks but still they clock just as fast on same fsb as the more expensive models.
Antec Performance One P182 Zwart
Antec TruePower Quattro 850, 850W
Club3D HD4870 X2
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer (love it, prolly useless for ET, but not for other games)
Asus P5Q (or other asus (X48) mainboard)
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 + OC (won't bottleneck)
Lite-On LH-20A1S
Take other brand memory + PC8500 (1066Mhz) (Asus + OCZ = Shit; Got P5E + GEIL 1066 = awesome; Corsair will do)
OCZ Vendetta 2
Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ, 1TB
Thx already for your tips! You have an idea how much that would cost us more?
Grtz
