After watching this repeatedly, it just pisses me off that anyone could actually see harm in this. THIS is fucking racing. There is no faul play anywhere, it's just fucking racing! You can even see soooo fucking clearly that after Hamilton had to cut the chicane he realises that he has to give back the position and he doesn't go full throttle until kimi is fully in front of him. He is continously moving his head to the right to see where kimi is and to see if he's fully in front of him before going all the way again.

If this isn't racing, I don't know what is.

oh and and just on a side note, I'm not gonna respond normally to anyone disagreeing cuz if you disagree after seeing this vid you simple are a fucking retard in my eyes.

lol saw it for first time, i think 25 sek penalty is too less for that, disqualify shouldve been the right decision

well, there was this one turn where Hamilton took the short path and drove the corner straight (about in the middle of the video)... but I haven't followed the case so I don't know what he got punished for anyway

I honestly can't understand how anyone can think that there was nothing wrong with what he did.

He had to cut the chicane, yes, but only because he tried to overtake Kimi when it was obvious he wasn't gonna make it. Kimi didn't force him to do it, ending up in that position was his own fault.

It is obvious that if he had slowed down early enough and stayed on the track, he wouldn't have ANY chance of overtaking Kimi so soon. He chose to cut the chicane, though, and quickly gave Kimi's his position back. However, he started to accelerate as soon as Kimi was in front of him; please note that he wouldn't have been this close to Kimi if he hadn't cut the corner. Then he simply made use of slipstreaming and overtook Kimi - something he couldn't have done if he had driven properly.

I agree with kot. Whether the initial mistake was intentional or not, the advantageous position after the chicane was probably the reason why Hamilton was penalized afterwards.

Crying out THIS IS RACING is a moot point; getting a penalty from doing something that's against the rules is also a part racing on F1-level. And I'm sure the people watching the tapes have enough expertise to make correct decisions based on them, far more so than your average viewer.

Right when i saw it on TV on sunday i already thought he will get punished for this... he came out of the chicane with an advantage, he should have slowed down a bit more an be behind Kimi, not right next to him. So he definitly took advantage out of the chicane so he could easier overtook Kimi on the straight imo.
I also agree with u that this is "racing", but rules are rules... same as on crossfire ;)

I think he gained an advantage by doing what he did, as such the judges will try to penalise him for it

anyway it's just sad that ferrari finally understood that what kind of car räikkönen wanted,oversteering so he can go fast on corners,but i think it will be now too late for räikkönen to win world champion,all tho we know what happened last season. ;)
