bought it 2 weeks ago.
Me was happy when i saw it was arrived.
Installing it correctly, no error beeps at first boot.

But still its an DOA, DAMN need to wait another 3 weeks now.

Yeah the cheapest one ;d sapphire seams to be good (sapphire is with Radeon from the begining), dunno about MSI but they should be fine also. I have Asus but HD4850, no problem here :)

yeah, had a sapphire 9600 XT once, was a great piece. Changed it for a gigabyte 6600 gt, and the gigabyte _sucks_. I'll never buy something from gigabyte again.

But I heard the sapphire 4870 has BIOS issues, so I'm kinda tended to buy a MSI (or even the 1GB version). :) Ordered a whole new system last week, only the gpu is missing. :D

Don't buy 1gb version! It's same as 512mb ( rly, can show you tests but in polish :d ) it only cost more but your FPS will be the same :) Yes they had BIOSS issues and I don't know how they work now

thought about buying a 24" tft (1920*1200) and I hoped to get better fps at that resolution with the 1gb edition :/

nah probably running games at that resolution is pointless anyway...

on med you should have much more BUT they tested it with Core2Quad Q9450 @3.2GHz, 4GB (4x1GB) DDR1066, BenQ FP241W 24"

I ordered AMD PhenomX4 9950 BlackEdition 125W 4x2.6GHZ BOX and 4096MB Mushkin XP2-8500 CL5 (1066) that'll do the almost the same - probably :D

if the power wasnt connected good than there would be no screen at all and there is.
Its probably burned ive had the same thing with 3 videocards before and its the same symptom

maybe your PCI-E slot is fucked up then... what power supply you have ?:) chieftec ? corsair, tagan ? or other?

We don't have rasurbo power supply here in Poland so can't rly tell you if it's good. They are cheap on ebay so I guess they can be bad but not 100% sure. Power supply can be the reason of your problem with videocards coz your PC can be instable that leads you to decreases of tensions.

did you connect 6pin molex for gpu power back at graphic card? Sapphires 4850 workin here without any prob, only temperature is kinda annoying (officialy normal lol)

your partly correct. You need to connect the 4 pins into a molex with 6pins XD.

And yes the videocard was kinda hot.

fan is pretty clean, card is running on 95 degrees but i saw on ati forums that this temp is pretty normal for cards in that power consumption range. Dunno it was very hot at start but i got used to it

Your Temp is normal I know ( I also have hd4850 ) but i mean someting other :)
You can fix your fan on card with CCC and have 80 degrees max without any problem

yes, only to fix the fan - you have to turn ON that option if you want to fix it via CCC, I dunno about that ATI Tray Tools ( 1st link )

it cannot be fixed the graphic card is burned.
You see dead pixels from up to down even in the BIOS.
