Just watched this again and fuck, it has to be one of the best war movie ever made.
Any more of those movies that are 100% awesome and not just all of those "USA R GRATEST" movies ?

films that are not front line: Empire of the Sun, Good Morning, Vietnam
Saving Private Ryan (only the opening scene though), Apocalypse Now, Platoon, Band of Brothers, The Longest Day etc are way better
