Can displayrefresh be straining?

Like the title says, can a high displayrefresh be too straining for my screen?

ask perfo
what that means?

the higher the refreshrate is, the shorter your monitor's lifespan will be.
thing is with one driver it can handle up to 120 but with another only 85. So keep it at 85? Its at 100 atm, but my screen is doing weird stuff

there is this funny option in windows: show only safe refresh rates[freestyle translation]... use only them, because, yes you can fakup your monitor^^
dpn't worry it won't hurt your bot though :D
says mr 3o3 high!

I use 85hz and 85displayrefresh for like 2 years now and it seems fine so far, got the monitor since 2002/3
With CRTs, yes. With TFTs, not really.

In CRT displays refresh rate means the number of times the ray of electrons travels from top to bottom of your screen during one second. This being a mechanical process might affect your screen's lifetime.

In TFT displays refresh rate is just the number of times your display panel accepts updates from your graphics card within a second. No state changes in liquid crystals happens unless the pixels' state needs changing, so refresh rate doesn't really play a factor in the aging of TFT displays.
soooooooooo.... speaking human language, only crts can fakup?

Anything can fakup.

CRTs are like your car: the faster you drive it, the more it'll wear down. On the other hand, does it matter if your car lasts only 4 years instead of 6? You'll be getting a new one within that time frame anyway.

TFTs are like, well, cars being towed, whatever. They go forward, but there is no mechanical damage to the engine like with CRTs. However, some mofo could bash in your headlights and cause dead pixels, but that's a whole another story...

so if my monitor is doing some crazy stuff with 100, it will most likly be worn down and a lower displayrefresh wouldnt help?
Parent
That you'll find out by trying a lower refresh rate.
