irc@work google it, the only reason you can't get onto IRC is because all ports are blocked by your network administrators. Try port scanning and changing to an open port, or better yet do IRC@WORK.

Just get a shell account and you can run your irssi whenever and wherever.

pjirc -> google it.
Its an online java applet, you can install it on your own host (works on most free hosts) so your school wont be able to block it.

Thats what I used back in time ;)
