ET on laptop!

Hello everyone! So, I downloaded and installed ET via this "et ultimate installer"

Got everything set up n shit, untill I try to connect to a server...I get the error message "Error code(cgame_mp_x86.dll) failed pure server check"

I get the server list if i click "play online" but i cant connect to any servers. Not even localhost. So if someone who's familiar with this problem could be kind enough to help me out I'd be really thankful!

Edit: Oh, the laptop has vista btw!

This issue can be from a program that conflicts with PB. There are a few known program that cause this:

* Get Right
* DU Super Controler
* Macro Toolsworks
* Girder 3.2
* PRTG Traffic Grapher
* CyberCorder: cybrcrdr.exe
* Paessler Router Traffic Grapher: prtg4.exe
* 3dnasys.exe
* mIRCStats

Closing those programs, or any like them that contain user or kernel level debuggers should stop the problem.

3.delete some pk3 files from etmain

4.reinstall MOTHERBOARD drivers

I dont think i have any of the programs specified. I doubt its a pk3 file because the only pk3 files in there are ones that came with the ultimate installer. And i have no idea what a motherboard driver is, I don't even know if i have that!

Q: I get "Client/Server game mismatch: 'Enemy Territory/ET pro" when trying to play back a demo!

A: You're trying to play back an etpro 3.0.1 demo on etmain or etpro < 3.0.1.

You need to:


* start et.exe with "+set fs_game etpro"
* make sure there aren't any other etpro pk3s in your directory other than etpro-3_0_1.pk3
* extract cgame_mp_x86.dll and ui_mp_x86.dll from the etpro-3_0_1.pk3 file and place them in your etpro directory



Note!! Your cgame_mp_x86.dll and ui_mp_x86.dll will get overwritten when you connect to an etpro server running a different version of etpro.

Someone might want to write an etpro demoplayer .bat script to extract the dll's from the pk3 and run et.exe with the proper commandline Very Happy

I really don't understand any of what you said :(+

There's only 4 things in my etpro: "Profiles (folder), etpro-3_2_6.pk3, qagame_mp_x86.dll, ui_mp_x86.dll

What do you mean by: Start et.exe with "+set fs_game etpro" ?

And what does it mean to / how do I "extract" cgame_mp_x86.dll (which is called qagame_mp.. not cgame_mp.. in my etpro folder!) from the etpro.pk3 file and place them in my etpro directory?

1.) Download latest ETPRO
http://etpro.anime.net/download.html

2.) Copy the file that says has error, overwrite your ETPRO one in YOUR etpro folder.

3.) Try joining a server enabling downloads on (cl_allowdownload 1), allow download of files or w/e.

4.) Answer fixed?

1.) Downloading the latest etpro! And what exactly do i do once i've downloaded it? Copy the whole thing and replace with my current etpro ?

3.) will do once this is sorted

I did, but it didnt work :( and now I've fucked everything up by deleting my et in order to re-download it from somewhere else, think im going to give up on this for now :(!

Right click on the game client, go to properties, click on compatibility and then select "Run this program as an administrator" option.

I think i downloaded 2.55 but i just downloaded the 2.60b patch, but could you tell me what to do with the patch :O)? If i open the "win32" file or sum i have 2 things in there: "et.exe and etded.exe" what do I do :(?

Replace these two icons with the ones in your ET folder, but the solution I told you is everything what you need, though. I had the same problem and I just needed to run this as admin.
