Native resolution

What's the native resolution for a 19" CRT I'm not sure if I can use the term native on this tho but there must be some sort of way to calculate these things using cm's ( like 1 cm on my screen = xx pixel). Anyone know anything about this? Kinda hard to explain, sorry :o

thx, have a nice laid back sunday :o

crt doesnt have a native reso

for desktop use either
1024x768
1152x864
1280x900

it's personal preference though really
I lub yu! <3

even tho that doesn't help me :P

1280x1024 is pretty optimal for 19" displays. The aspect ratio isn't 4:3, so if you want correct geometry (circles instead of ellipses), you should use 1280x960. I, for one, never noticed the difference.

Oh, sorry, didn't read it carefully. And didn't understand what he asked, even after reading it again...
Parent
nvm bira, you're help is also appreciated :P
Parent
haha sry didn't mean to sound mean, it was just way off the topic since he asked for nr of pixels per cm ;)
Parent
well I just measured and it's 36.5 across and 27.5 in height, trying to remember math to try some custom resolutions :DD Ill see how many hz I'll get on that, if it's 85 I'll use it prolly
Parent
Ah, now I see. :p

I guess you need to find out what's the dot pitch of your monitor, so you can calculate the maximum number of pixels your monitor can physically display for both width and height.

For example, my monitor has a dot pitch of 0.25mm. The width of my screen is about 40,8 cm, so the maximum number of pixels my monitor can handle horizontally would be 408 mm / 0.25 mm = 1632.
Parent
ah thanks :o
Parent
So you have a 1cm x 1cm screen?
Parent
1x1 cm, hmm? What the fuck are people talking about in this journal...

The whole 1 cm aspect is irrelevant, if one wants to find the optimal screen resolution for a certain display.
Parent
Quotethe maximum number of pixels my monitor can handle would be 408 mm / 0.25 mm = 1632

I think it would rather be something like 1.7x10^6 pixles
Parent
Uh. Well, I corrected the sentence for you.

I kind of figured an example how to calculate the amount of pixels that can be horizontally displayed on my screen would be enough, and people might be able to calculate the vertical pixels in the same manner, but I guess things don't work like that in Crossfire.
Parent
1280x1024 is far from optimal because of the reason you just said! how can you not see the difference between 5:4 and 4:3 wtf
Parent
I'm blind.

And haven't used 19" monitors in the last 5 years. :)
Parent
1152x864 or 1200x900, they are pretty much my choice atm, gonna go test :>

not with me ;/
