Speed-Cup, development

I was about to make news about this, but I better test your interest by a journal first.

It is a one man mission, get the objective and run like hell. It is all about time, nothing else.

Maplist: Frostbite, Adlernest, et_beach atleast. Maplist is under concideration, every opinion will be considered. Ie. Supply/Bremen flag-cap can be one part.

Cup structure is simple, in every round 50% fastest qualify to next round. When there is two guys left, they will take a heads up, stopwatch style (both choose a one map if every map is already used once).

Well, thats the short summary about it, feel free to give opinions and ideas, or tell that this sucks. It will be held this sunday or the sunday after that if there is interest on it.

I will arrange this if I get enough excitement for about 16 or more players.

Maybe best out of 3 times ? You just do 3 runs with the objective and the best time out of 3 runs will be used
Maybe, though it may take too much time since I am planning to use only one server which would be broadcasting ETTV all the time.

If I talk Rhand on to this to be my co-pilot, we could use two servers if needed.

It starts when the round starts, it ends when the object is secured, just like normally, simple. That´s how there will be no problems with time.

There is one problem with this: Usually the spawn depends on your connection, while someone can rush when the start just started then someone stuck in the spawn for 1-2 swconds... think about it
..but if your name is sqzz, it shouldn't be a big deal.. ;b

I likes. Use full maps to set times though not part-objectives like flag caps etc.
That will propably be the way. I considered ie. supply with blown gates and build controls, who would push the button fastest, but it would take so much time for everyone and there would be problems to get exact times.

Having given this more thought, to add some extra fun to the process it could be fun if you allow the player to use everything at their disposal (apart from map bugs) to complete the objective in the fastest time possible.
Swapping from allies to axis to drop yourself a uniform then spawning allied covop would add an interesting edge to the game - needs brain power to execute efficiently as well as a certain lotto element with the spawn times.
First example I thought of was Bremen. Spawn allied engy -> plant main -> spawn axis at flag and run towards allies first spawn then /kill -> spawn as cov and take uni. You could be on your way through the team door and halfway to the keycard before the dyna blows (if you're lucky with the spawn times). Might not work, dunno.. just bouncing ideas around. Infact I think I might try that out later!

Just some first test-set, under development. But that covie-thingie is included to make radar playable, it is just such a good map for this.

Selfkilling isn´t allowed because of the lotto-factor in sp_delivery. Not sure if the map will be used, but still.
