Is the decission final? Because I still got a 2month Premium-account :o)
not yet, they still have one last chance if they manage to delete illegal content as soon as people upload them. which means they have to invest a lot of money so probably they will go bankrupt :PPP and if ordinary people start to challenge them @ the court... :P they surely will... :D

They can simply move their servers to another country were they aren't obliged to German jurisdiction, right? Or move their headquarters to another country.

I really doubt Rapidshare will dissapear. They are too big and too rich for that.
Parent
It's a little bit too late for moving the servers as they've been already caught - it won't help nothing.
Parent
well, thepiratebay managed to do it still ;p
Parent
They never got sentenced by the Swedish courts afaik.
Parent
Rapidshare won't die :<
Parent
Oh I'm sure it won't but they may pay a lot first.
Parent
yeh that would be one possible option to continue.
Parent
isnt rapidshare already located in switzerland? :d
Parent
I think the company still is German.
Parent
YARRRRRRRRRR
fucking German courts sticking their noses in to everything, next thing they'll be trying to ban online gaming globally...
NEXT THING THEY WILL BE TRYING TO KILL ALL THE JEWS AGAIN?!
Parent
YAR THEY BE HUNTING US
that sux :/
this only affects rapidshare.de i hope , not the rapidshare.com ?
it only affects rapidshare.de since the rapidshare.com servers are hosted in switzerland
Same company, which is located/registered in Germany.
Parent
no, 2 different.
Parent
Rapidshare.de and .com have different names buth are in their core the same company.
Parent
rapidshare.com is not affected by german law.
Parent
I sincerly hope so, but rapidshare.com and .de both belong to the RS-group and the text in the journaltopic isn't talking about solely about .de.
Parent
there is no RS-group. They are two different companies.
rapidshare.de => RapidTec
rapidshare.com => rapidshare corporation. registered in the swiss comercial register.
Parent
How is this hard to understand? Your company is registered in country X so the law of country x applies. sure
Parent
Every site which is reporting about this case is talking about RS.com so appearantly there is something which ties RS.com to Germany.
Parent
you're right. just read that they have a plant in germany. oh well, i guess worst case scenario would be that rapidshare.com will be disallowed in germany. wouldnt' really care :p
Parent
actually im always downloading at rapidshare.com anyway, and i think most do so, so wont be any problem if this decision is going to be a final one
"so go and grab your money NOW"

how? :<
AWWWWW finally we will get rid of those rapidshare freaks
ooh I still 1 month of premium, but if rs is out could be bad for the other services, maybe they will increase their prices /:

sticking to my megashares account anyways XD
