finally a new pc :o

so I finally decided to get rid of my AGP system to get ready for Wolfenstein and Call of Duty 5 :o

the pc i used to play on for the last 4 years *sniff*

intel p4 520 (3,0Ghz, 1mb)
asus P4P800-E Deluxe
sapphire radeon 9800Pro <- replaced by msi 7600GS 256mb
Maxtor 160gb Sata150 8MB
2x 512 DDR SDRAM
some default case :o

pc i'm getting:

intel C2Q Q9550 (2,83Ghz 12mb)
asus P5Q-Pro
4096MB Corsair TwinX DDR2 PC6400 CL4
sapphire radeon HD4870 1024MB
WD 500GB SATAII 16MB

I went from a FX5200 to a 8800 GT >___<

en dan komt er weer een nieuwe journal "Why isn't it working!?"

Nice spec :)

I have been very impressed with my P5Q Pro Mobo.

I would personally get a larger PSU though.
it should be a great mobo, though there are a few problems with the layout.
If you have a gpu which takes 2 slots in the 2nd pci-e slot, you won't be able to use 2 to 4 SATA ports.

and the IDE - power connector are badly placed as well (they need to cross each other :o, but i don't have any IDE hardware so no problem :))
Parent
rofl why does he need a larger psu?

he does need a better one, but he doesn't really need more watts...
Parent
I stand corrected, just looked at the specs on the 4870, I though they required more juice than they do.
Parent
nice specs for your new pc, id get a corsair / fortron / chieftec / ocz or something psu though, most of antecs PSUs are pretty shit
i've been reading reviews about the case + psu and they all were (y). So I think this one could be good.

its the NeoPower 550 - EC

though i never had an antec PSU so far, it will be a test ;) my last one broke down 4 times in 1 year ... hope that won't happen again :o
Parent
psu is possibly the most important part, think its worth risking? :P
Parent
ye, the last one broke down 4 times in a year, the guy where i bought my parts happily replaced it each time (with a more powerfull one) without asking any penny

what a service :O
Parent
yea, but it might break down and take your mobo / cpu etc with it
Parent
nice one :}
i failed ;)
seta r_customwidth "512"
seta r_customheight "384"
Just ordered Mine to :)

Intel Q6600
Nvidia 8800GT DDR3
ASUS P5E3 Deluxe
Noctua NH-C12P Socket 775, AM2, AM2+ Processor Cooler
Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro 7.1 Soundcard - PCI-Express
Kingston 2GB (2x1GB) DDR3 1800MHz/PC3-14400 HyperX Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL8
Razer Deathadder

:)
nice setup, but i would have gone for another cpu (2,4Ghz per core is just too slow for gaming)
Parent
Thats why i got this mobo and cooler + i already had this cpu :( but i can overclock it to 3.2ghz so its np :)
Parent
Antec nine hundred is way cooler!
nice config, i just woulda take another proc ;o
you should have taken 8400/8500, if you wanted to save money.. but apparently it wasn't an issue so w/e. nice specs otherwise, that 4870 will run crysis on high @ ~30 fps if cooled correctly :d
the case will have a good airflow, going to put 2 extra 92mm fans in the front. and i have a zalman ordered for the cpu

about the gpu cooler, from what i heard, it sounds like an airplane when its on 100% >_<
Parent
:ddd yeah, but who cares about the fan noise when (read: if) you can turn the volume up.
