average amount of sleep

well topic says it all, thing is I go out most friday' and saturdays ( lifer orly ) making me to have a really bad rythm, only sleeping around 4.00 every night causing me to have trouble to get to sleep early on sunday which makes me eventually like I am now.

Staring in front of a pc screen for the next few hours wondering what I'm actually doing, had around 4 hrs of sleep or smth and I'll be wasted for the rest of the day untill I get home to take a 'mini-sleep' (c) Steffie

So question is as follows, are there any more persons having trouble to keep their eyes open on this shitmonday morning and if so how many hours sleep did you have ? ( just to make me feel better that others are wasted also :dDD )

Another question, how many hours of sleep do you need ( roundabout ) to be fully fit, fysically as mentally.. For me its about 8 hours OR I should have to be at cdc/cc/cpc drinking 5 redbulls before even touching a keyboard ;d

managed to fall asleep around 4.30/5 am and woke up at 7.30 :/ fucked myself up by being up till 6am last night and then sleeping till 3pm :D

usually get around 5/6 hours sleep. been doing it for so long that my body is used to operating with it, if i get over 7 hours sleep i usually feel more tired than if i had less
a few years ago when i was at school i didnt go to bed before 3am, usually between 4-6am and i had to wake up for school at 8am, alot of the time i didnt even bother going to sleep...dunno how i managed it back then i need like 7-8 hours a night now to not feel like death

You probably have a lot of sleep debt now so you should try to sleep for around 10-12 hours for maybe 3 days and after that 8 hours and 15 minutes will be everything you need to be 100% recovered (according to some random research that I read about recently)

I sleep more now, than I did a few years ago. I think it's because I don't drink coffee anymore... used to drink a lot!
when I have morning shift at work (like now), I sleep 2-3 hours. during evening shifts I usually sleep 10-11 hours and when I have free from work 12+ hours.

when i was still working like 2 years ago i had morning shifts aswell, start around 5 or smth ? then I had the same, really had trouble getting 2 hours sleep back then, can remember waking up at 4.15 all sweaty ( just stress cuz I couldn't get to sleep I guess ) anyway I can remember I was dreaming then while I was awake ( no kidding, I saw fragments of a movie while I was sitting there with my eyes open rofl )

starting 6am so gotta wake up at around 5am. I usually sleep few hours during the day after work tho so that helps a bit

if I'd actually get paid for it, sure, but can hardly make a living out of few qpads and some small prizemoneys now and then (in case you even actually receive them)

packing steel products at factory. not a dream job, but pays pretty well for temporary job before going to army considering I got no education for it

sounds pretty ok and if the army in your country pays as much as the guys in ours it should be great, altho no ET for a long time if you have a mission! ;D

over here they get around 5000 euro a month for that rofl..
most missions are 3 months long so in total its about 15000 euro

nah, finnish army doesen't consist of professional soldiers so the payment is next to none. it's something like 4 euros / day at the beginning as far as I know :D

that could be it but dunno, its more like I stay sleepy for a long time till as I said 11:30/12:00 and then im feeling good awake and enough energie and well thats till 1:00 or so I just don't feel sleepy at nights and then the next morning im fucked, tough most of the times I go to sleep at 12:00/0:30 and wake up at 8:30 :<

Hm try eating some more carbs in the morning, make some eggs with bread and drink some juice or eat some cereal + fruit. If you eat cheese in the morning for example that would perfectly explain why you get the energy so late. Else wise maybe because of smoking, dunno if you do tho so just try some things and see :P

I dont smoke and I hate cheese! :P but well I only eat 2 sandwiches to start the day so maybe that just is to little, but I eat eggs like 2/3 times a week at the start and every now and then serials, should eat some more fruit tough :(

6 hours every night. Can't sleep more than that. If, for some reason, I sleep more than 6 hours - I'll be tired all day long, if less - I'll be dead tired all day long. So 6 it is.

I usually sleep 6-8 hours, and 10+ on weekends. Although I do often miss classes due to oversleeping in the mornings
I never feel fully fit. In the weeks I sleep like 6-7 hours. But I feel very tired and its a fight every morning to get out of bed.
In the weekends I sleep like 10-11 hours, and I will still feel tired. I found out I overall feel the best if I sleep 7-8 hours a day, and keep a rhythm in it, eg. if you gotta get up early on weekend for some reason... Then I won't have problems to fall asleep on a sunday evening and feel better the whole next week.
6-7 hours; but last year made a strong habbit of sleeping 5-6. The extra hour has made it alot easier during the school days. I don't need redbull every morning and never fall asleep in class anymore. Getting to bed @ 23.30 on average. But i still wake up often within the night so im not sure whether or not i get my average
Young people are actually supposed to get like 10-12 hours sleep a day. Though, it obviously never happens.

Last night I got less than six hours (3am ish to 9am) but that's only because I had to finish reading a book for a class, and then I went in the shower (2.30am ish) to save myself time this morning!

Tonight, after doing some work I'll probably sleep 10 hours or more.

(When I went to college I used to only get around three hours sleep a day and, some times most of that would come when I was on the bus travelling to and fro! Much healthier now.)
1) i had about 6hours a sleep and i don't feel tired at all,if i sleep more than 8 hours i start to wake up in work so basicly i will drive with my eyes closed to work. :F

2) 6,5h - 8hmax (this has been tested by some psychologist and they discovered that this time spread is the best,and imo they are true,if i sleep less than 6hours im tired,if i sleep more than 8 hours [lets say 10hours] i am tired as hell).

I need 7+ hours to be fit. When I sleep less than 5 hours I feel ill and can't think fast enough. On the other hand sleeping more than 9 hours makes me sluggish, like I never really woke up.

I usually go out or be a die hard gamer in weekends and get up really late. Then I get to sleep on sundays at about 3-4 am. Get about 3 hours of sleep and start work on monday.
Monday's I just go to bed early and wake up tuesday on time to get to work or school again. From tuesday on I get back to a 'normal' rythm of about 6 hours of sleep (1.00 till 7.00, or somewhere around that.). Then friday or saturday it starts all over again.
In short, monday is a fucked up day to work with not really much sleep..

you do know how insufficient it is to actually only train 1 bodypart for that
period of time, don't you? It's also not beneficial using steroids if that's what
you're doing, which to me would be the only logical reason for such a retarded
training. Sorry but that's the truth. I know you train from all the things being said
but you should really do you're homework. This is going to offend you but I don't

Since im friend with one of swedens best bodybuilder, and he is special trainer for other people and he is food expert etc etc, he gaved me a training program. And this training program gives me result and whole my body feels better. SO WHY should i listen to a random on xfire? what i should do and not do ?

tbh there are plans like that for poeple who use steroids and that's why I'm whining, I've never heard of a plan like that for natural bodybuilder. You'd have to train 7 days a week if you work every muscle group separately , in fact you'd even prolly need more. I'd like to see the plan, never seen such a weird split, care to share? :O

while fullmoon its impossible for me to sleep and in the end i sleep no more than 3-4 hours[mostly while sun is still up]

normally i sleep for 6-8 hours, 7 days a week =)

I need around 7-8 hours of sleep in order to feel fit. MOstly I end up with 6 though :< and on sunday to monday with 5 or 4, so yes, this morning is as glorious and refreshing as can be!

Well, I usually close my eyes at 01.00 or a little bit later. In the morning I'm very tired, but I always take a shower (to wake up) and I have to take the bus also (for more than an hour) I don't sleep a lot (ca. 6-7h/night) but when I come home with the bus, I mostly fall asleep and only 1 hour in the afternoon, early evening; it makes a huge difference. Believe me :)
So actually, I have no problems with the sleeping hours.
If I can sleep 9 houres I feel great, when I don't get my 9 hr's of sleep I feel like shit and can't even think fast enough then

I dunno, I get by on 4-5 hours a day perfectly, but whenever I go out I need at least 12 hours to compensate. Every Sunday is sleep day for me, getting up at like 5-6 in the afternoon.
Slept 3-4 hours this night and obviously feel like a sandbag. I can function with 5-6 (that's how I finished most of school) but I don't feel tired at all when I slept like 13-15 hours, like I do in weekends.

I never keep track of this but to sum my weekend up, woke up @ 10ish at friday then went to bed @ 6 am saturday morning, woke up again at noon and went to bed at 4 am sunday morning and woke up at 9 (football match), went back to bed at midnight on sunday.

during weekends I'm working as a club photographer which means like sleep for 5/6hrs per night, but sometimes I take a 'small' nap the next evening (for 1 or 2hrs max)

6 hours which is my average really. felt absolutely knackered (double maths on monday morning orly, useless anyway as i already have a GCSE in it :/), which is natural for me, always feel knackered until i've had lunch when @ college.

I sleep everyday 6 hours. I wouldn't sleep more than this to be honest, nor less!. On Sundays I menage to sleep something like 8-9 hours, but it's not a problem, I just feel better after it. On every Monday morning I'm standing up fastly, without any problems.

Too much sleep is a totally fuck up though.
i sleep 20+ hours in the weekend and then i can go out pretty much every weekday and school at 8.30 am, works for me

I get by with 7, but my school starts quite late usually so I tend to sleep at least 8. On weekends I usually sleep around 10.

The same happens with me every week. Parties on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and it's really hard to get up on Monday. For example this night I played on UK pub till 03:30, because I could not sleep. Then 3 hours of sleep and I got up @ 06:30 and went to university for a lesson, after that 4 hours of tennis... I arrived home now, and I go back till 18:00 for another subject and after that need work a little bit...so it will be a long day, but anyways if I get up somehow then I can finish the day somehow.

For the question...
...if I sleep 3+ hours and do some sport, then it's somehow ok
...if I sleep 5+ hours then I need some hours to "get up"
...if I sleep 8+ hours then it's ok
