Londoners / Travel From Heathrow

Hey looking for the southern element of Crossfire for some advice. What's travel like from Heathrow airport to London? As I'm driving my mate down to Heathrow airport on the 5th & we where looking to go on into London for bonfire night.

Figured driving in might be a pain (if it's not do say!) so what's peoples experiences like on the train? & the price can't really be what thetrainline.com says @ £76 return each?

'n any ideas if there's much going on for bonfire night for a few northern monkeys? Flight leaves 2ish so got the afternoon / evening.

I'm always traveling from Poland too London with a plane @ Heathrow or a Fair @ Dunquerque to Dover and vice-versa to Poland. I'm taking almost every time the Piccadilly Line @ Metro (I pay with a Oyster Card every time). With a Car it isn't any special expensive too :)
this is a piccadilly line service to COCKfosters!

lived in London myself for like almost 2 years..u can get into London very easily using the tube system believe it or not...theres a shuttle comes into central London direct from Heathrow...best way to do it m8, its easy and u are flexible...
Where are u in the North btw?
Cheers Heathrow Connect looks cheap enough. Fook knows why thetrainline.com was wanting to charge so much...

Yorkshire, back 'n forth between Doncaster & Rotherham atm
