diamondback (repost)

I used to have a diamondback ~ 2-3 years ago but switched to another one for various reasons. Using my MX 518 for quite some time now and i'm getting bored of it, I find it too big, I don't really like the shape anymore and sometimes it feels like it just doesn't respond fast enough when I flick my mouse into another direction. (will break soon anyway if I remember the numerous journals correctly).

Anyone who made the switch from a mx 518 to a razer diamondback? And will it be suitable for me since I want to play with it @ 400 DPI. If not, I might aswell just buy a krait / salmosa since they are so cheap (30 EUR)

Shut your piehole if you don't know the slightest thing about mice, and stick your esreality benchmarks up your asses please.

If anybody else uses another razer mouse (boomslang, krait, lachesis, salmosa...), just fire away.

Thx in advance.

awesome mice idd :) only after two years the button wich you push on and then has to touch the sensor didn't work fine so I had to open it and put a sticker between the sensor and the MOUSE1-button :p

I had 2x copperheads, both started disconnecting ingame, and then in windows as well :c So, I changed it to mx510..and couple years later -> 518.

but, mx510 > mx518 > copperhead.

buy razor salmosa! i got that one instead of diamondback really like it, costs are somewhere around 25 euro
using my diamondback for ~2/3 years and im happy with it :P
deathadder is awesome, its smaller and the mousefeet dont wear out if u have a decent mousepad. The only minus is that the middlemousebutton is abit sensitive compared to te one the mx518 has.
You can change the scrolling speeds, but if you mean clicking it then i guess your right!

ye i meant clicking it :)

Well, youll have to get used to it, but i guess itll be worth it once you do. Not used the mx518 but ive had my diamondback for ages and wouldnt want anything more from a mouse.
i made the switch too, but i play with my diamondback on 800 dpi. But the diamondback is 1000000x better and nicer
deathadder > *
salmosa and diamondback3g are 800dpi minimum :/
if you want 400dpi out of all razer mice the only worth to buy are deathadder (bigger than mx518 so probably it's not for you), OLD diamondback (not 3g) and krait.
also you might like steelseries ikari optical(400/800/1600dpi), it looks a bit wider and bigger than mx518 but in fact is much lower, weights less and it's perfomance isnt worse

deathadder isn't bigger than mx518, I got both, I know :D

Is the deathadder heavier than the the MX 518, does it weigh less / more, when one do you prefer....... and why?
Parent
well it's just a matter of taste, the only valueable difference is the shape
Parent
well basically, on deathadder your hand is 'relaxed' while being on the mouse, the shape is just perfect once you played with it few times

the polling rate can be 125/500/1000hz which means that you won't have problems with the response time

the mouse has loads of settings, such as X+Y axis adjustment.. also it doesn't feel sluggish like mx518 does sometimes

the 3G technology which deathadder has is also far better then the mx518 technology

take it from me, you won't make a mistake by buying DA..
Parent
well actually those are mine so i also can compare their sizes ;x
yeah it's not bigger but it doesnt allow aiming with your wrist/fingers, only comfortable holding is with your whole palm/claw, while with mx518 both are possible, therefore DA doesnt let you perform accurate at high sens since wrist aiming is much more precise than aiming with your arm. but yeah, DA is slightly lighter and the cord is thinner

i find the logitech mouses too big too
If you need speed, grab a Deathadder and don't lower the DPI. It seems that it's ment to perform at it's best at 1800 DPI, whereas the MX518 doesn't seem to change at 400 or 1600 DPI. I haven't had a Diamondback, but I don't see why you would want to get one if your current MX518 isn't fast enough. And you DEFINATELY don't want to get a G5 or a Copperhead. Nothing but nightmares with deceleration.

Deathadder is as big as a MX518, no more or less. Shapes a bit different though. More of a claw grip with the Deathadder. And really you won't be able to tell the difference in weight between a Deathadder and a MX518.

Mouse durability and longevity is all luck. My MX518s seem to have lasted the longest though. Current one I've got has lasted for almost 2 years. Before this one I had a G5 as did my brother, they both stopped working after a few months and both were plagued with deceleration and bugs at high speeds, although the mouse movement seemed smoother than the MX518. We both had MX518s before that lasted about a year. My brother recently had a Deathadder that lasted a few months but when it was working, it was smooth and didn't have any speed problems.
