since my cousin is getting kicked sometimes from servers from others claiming he is a cheater I would say.. yes.. especially since xbox has a hard drive of x gb and you can insert files with usb stick I don't think its that difficult..
cod5 will be the same as cod4 just in time 2nd world war. Nothing will changed. And cod4 wasnt fail, look at the activity @ clanbase & esl. Only because you dont like cod4, it doesn't make this game that fail what etqw has done.
Activity in COD4 is nothing new tbh, In counter strike you could see the same some years ago(and you can see alot clan and stuff after 10 years), and check how old game that is. I'm wondering what will happen to cod4 after 4 years, this game will be nothing around 2012. Oh btw ET is still in a decent "shape", ET is free and check this game is still alive after 5 years. But there are no expansion anymore. So that activity in COD4 is normal for a game where you need to pay to play.
They just want to earn more money with new COd series, they dont want to keep that alive because they cant earn much money with that. So in every year (or 2 years) they will come out with a new to force teenagers to buy it again. Like the Fifa, same every year but who cares....

ofc someone would! many players still playing cod1 and cod2 too. dont matter if there is another cod. and cod1 even better in activity than ET, and cod1 older than ET.
i think if cod5 fails cod4 is gunna take off big time. Theres so mutch support for it lan wise, and so many players still playing it. If cod5 fails, they will all move and stick with cod4 like they did in cod2. The game has so mutch potential.
I always prefered the World War games before the universal future games. That's why I don't like COD4 at all but I didn't like COD2 either(must be the engie). But this COD5 game looks really nice but I won't play it for sure :>
And I think RTCW2 will suck balls. :D hope not :)
I dont think cod4 was a failure because allot of ppl like the modern aspect that it brings to the COD series so thats a proven innovation i guess and besides that the game itself is good.
But i also like the ww2 theme and cod5 does look nice :) It doesn't bother me at all that they make another ww2 based game. I think its a smart move that they made it because there are obviously ppl who dont like the modern cod and would prefer the ww2 theme.
