IF you have the graphics on high/max, ET looks good, especially since it was released in 2003.. I suppose

with picmip at 1 and with a reso of min 1280x960 it is a pretty game :D

with all the eye candy on its a pretty good looking game, but fps will decrease also (alot?) on the other hand you can make ET look like counterstrike and see nothing more then pixels and blur

i like ET's graphics many online games failed trying to get high fps with this quality :)

I don't know why the people care so much about the graphics.
Oke don't look like Wolfenstein 3D, but don't need to be COD either.
ET has a very decent look out.

I can solve this with some simple statements

good games prioritise gameplay over graphics
peons prefer graphics over gameplay
most people are peons
most people like shit games

ET is pretty GOOD-LOOKING.

I've had the same, most people say it looks shitty, and i think it does. I'm not a very superficial guy though, i think ET has a great personality.

The thing is that ET's looks live from the sharp textures.

ET has a special graphics that none of the games have, I love 'em!

et looks good enough... in any game people that play serious downgrade their grafics anyway to get better performance and to better see the enemy's if you put Q3A on high quality it still looks good to(not super but good). at least this is playable and not all the pretty details but no way to get decent play

With the graphics turned up full it looks ok, but nothing special. Compared to newer games the graphics are really starting to look dated. With a pro-player's config, ofc, it looks unbelievably shitty.

I know what you mean. People who prefer other games whine about ET graphics. But imo when I use a fragmovie config for ET it still looks just as good as 95% of the newer games.

i think for an online game et has the perfect graphics. they arent too good so you cant focus on your target, and they arent so bad so the enemies look 2d (

The game looks really good for its age and considering that it's actually a free game and not a full one. They're not top ofc, but they are very nice to look at it while playing with a decent fps as well.

well, compared to Far Cry which came out only some months later... nah, it's ugly :D
Personally I don't think a game has to be beautiful to enjoy it.

Serious gamers will always choose performance so it doesnt really matter. And i agree on the sharpness, allthough i think that games like rtcw and Quake are still far superiour in that aspect

I hate other graphics even if my PC can handle highset graphics I try to make it look like ET :)

ET has fine gfx for a game build 2003....

only the green and blue models make me sometimes dizzy :O :D

I´ve tested some other fps games, most of em got better gfx than ET, but the fast gameplay of ET is still the best xD

E.T is for gamers, not for morons who play games for landscapes (hi Crysis & Fear). And with high settings, E.T looks beautiful on map like oasis, fueldump, venice etc..

et is the most unrealistic FPS game.

I played this game because I was asked to... I don't care about the reputation of Eurocup or the people playing there. If anything it's hilarious how little time and effort it took on my part to play at this level, yet it takes you five years of playing to make OC division two. That is awesome.

Which is why people who play ET think the graphics are ok or even good looking while people who are first seeing the game find the graphics to be ugly.
