~£200 i think
it's hard to know what range youre looking for though, since "too pricey" differs for everyone
~60€
~70 €
~40 euro :-)
(Creative Inspire A500 5.1 )
sound is good, but I usually use them for music / movies (I use my headset when I play).
(btw, if you don't want to have a crappy sound, buy a soundcard with it)
I was going to get a 5.1 setup when I bought my speakers. Talking to one of my friends who had bought one he said he never got round to setting it up and I was probably better off with a 2.1 setup.
When I went to aria they were sold out of the G51 5.1 speakers so I went for the z2300 which were around the same price and I just use standard headphones for gaming.
Tbh the 2.1 speakers (THX) are better for music than the 5.1 speakers especially seeing as I have a thx certified sound card. Depends on what you are planning to use it for. However the G51 are a great setup if you do want a 5.1 speaker system.
although few artists released their cds/dvds in ac3 which is 5.1
this one is really amazing, trust me. Teufel is maybe not well known outside germany, but here they win all sorts of prices and awards for their fine systems. Especially the CEM PE is _really_ an awardfactory. See the details at the page.
and if that's too expensive for you I'd really recommend a creative system for example the Creative Inspire T6100 for about 70e at amazon.de I have one myself for like 4 years and never had problems with it.
