File recovery

Does anyone have a good/simple file recovery program? I tried searching for some, but either you need a keycode for it (which i couldnt find) or its like chinese... cant understand shit.

so plz tell me/give me link of a good file-recovery-program!

but there are also a thousand other tools which do the same.
even tuneup utilities had such an option i think.

delete and overwrite single files or the unused space on your hd (for "deleted" files which can still be recovered though) up to 35x (gutman standard).

Easy recovery pro

Not free but certainly one of (if not) the best.

Also, if the file you want to recover is on the harddrive you currently use then stop whatever you are doing, take the drive out and hook it up to a different computer as a second drive, otherwise your filesystem could overwrite the sectors of your lost file, making it impossible to ever recover it.

I used this Runtime GetDataBack for NTFS 3.03.013.rar , but I think it needs keycode, else you can recover amount of 64kb datas.

When I accidentally deleted a (admittedly) smallish text file, the first thing I did was a complete copy of the partition, so subsequent usage wouldn't overwrite my data. Then I got the best hex-editor ever, bless, and started searching for a phrase I knew was in the file. I ultimately found the whole thing, and copy-pasted it in my text editor.
