Which Processor is better for gaming?

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 (bestest?)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300/9450 (expensive and slow shit for gaming?)
AMD Phenom X4 Quad-Core 9950 (2.6GHz can easily be overclocked to 3.0GHz or higher)
I would probably go for E8500, worth it or is there anything better tbh?

ive got the E8500 and its awesome not that i know much bout it :>
if i would buy new processor,i would hook up with Quad. currently E4400 @ 3ghz.
Personally I would go with E8400 or E8500.
i got AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.6 Ghz, enough for me, but for pro gaming 3.0 GHz
i too would pick the 8500
E8400 OC'd
For nowadays gaming E8500

For SHIT LOAD OF MULTITASKING intel quads since there are very few games that support 4 cores atm...wait for the new dual core series from intel? (core i7) Should perform better then older C2D.

And yeah...no fucking AMD..shit processors should burn in hell
i7 is actually a quad core processor with hyperthreading, so 8 threads (Windows sees them as cores). Whether or not it will be better then Core2 for gaming depends on the game, just about every game out there only uses 2 cores at most.

AMDs upcoming Deneb (quad core) processors are rumored to hit 4.3ghz on air easily. Before Core2, AMDs Athlon 64 walked all over the Pentium 4.

What I've been reading that core i7 isnt quad but actually new dual core which will be named e 7000 & e8000 and should perform better than the dualcores we have now.

AMD is failing atm and i have an athlon 64 and an pentium 4 and I still think p4 is superior to athlon 64
