Yey !
Yesterday my gf came back home with black something...yes It was laptop !
It's a 5 years old example of good old times.Size is same as modern ones though.
it's Celeron 1.3 ghz ,astonishing 196 megs of ram ! my god, this thing could cause a power shortage in Paris if connected to mains :>
Windows hasn't been changed since its first install...must have been 2005 .
It took me 4 hours to make it work. When I first turned it on It took 20 minutes
to start windows (XP home). It turns out that one single Norton 360 needs more
ram than my little fellow has ! So when I looked at task manager/performance there
was 320 mb used out of 196 available. bye bye norton, problem sorted .
Now I can lay in bed and browse web, talk to friends on msn,and it's all for free,I didn't pay a penny.Person who gave it to me thought that long load times meant end of it's life.
It's good to know the basics.
