Unnecessary words: Some words add nothing but length to your prose.
Parent
3, 4, 10 and 11. I disagree with their answer for 3 and think 11 is just a stupid question in general, though.
Parent
11 did get me, but there we are. After reading 3 back i think i got it with abit of luck in all honesty, rather unnecessary.

Nellie has given you a warning worth 1 points.

4... honestly :p
I have a problem with some of the questions on the quiz, in that the answers actually mean different things. I can't tell them what's correct without knowing what they're trying to say. Did the UN observers actually accuse the paramilitaries of torture/murder, or did their report merely list human right abuses, for example? Not that that actually effected anything in my answers, as it was.

I got 8/12. Two of the others I agree with, two I thought were stupid points (you're making a point that it's THE tyre maker, as in the one everyone's talking about; and all the metaphors extended or otherwise are silly, so whey prefer that one?)
Should've revised the guide Mr Adacore!
Parent
surely style is someone subjective :<

I agree with adacore!
Parent
Any guide that says of American English, simply, “Don’t.” is infallible imo!
Parent
I deeply agree with you on question 3.
Parent
Furthermore no target audience is specified, so you can easily argue that 'unnecessary words' or 'the use of other languages' can't be criticised :4
Parent
You can infer some kind of target audience from the fact that it's the Economist, but you have a point.
