BlackBerry Storm review(BlackBerry 9500)

As BlackBerry fans, you can’t miss the BlackBerry Storm.

At Nov 6th, 2008, the word on the street is that Best Buys around the colonies was start taking pre-orders for the BlackBerry Storm for a stiff $50 deposit. It’s a great indication that they're expecting elevated demand when it finally launches this month.

From engadget.com by Darren Murph, posted Nov 5th 2008: “…you North Americans are going to have to suffer through the agony that it is knows Voda subscribers are delighting in this handset well before you.” “Vodafone's BlackBerry Storm is way ahead of Verizon's in terms of availability”.

Since the Storm supports a bunch of audio and video formats, will come with an 8GB microSD card and supports stereo Bluetooth. It'll also have Verizon's V CAST, naturally.

But fortunately, we can convert DVD Movie Video to Blackberry storm, you can go here to get BlackBerry Converter software

BlackBerry Storm Good:

RIM's first all-touchscreen keyboard-free smartphone

HTC Touch HD Screen, 184-pixel-per-inch stunner could be the best screen on the market

3.25-inch

480x360pixs

3.2MP camera, with the LED flash

It comes with a free 8GB memory card, 600 minutes and 3000 texts

It’s toggles seamlessly between portrait and landscape mode.

BlackBerry Storm Bad:

NO Wi-Fi

small gap (dust or water could go in and attack the internal circuitry)

lack of an equivalent to the App store

Browsing and network, it had some trouble with a text entry field in the browser

There's much to love about the new device but the talking point will almost certainly be the clickable touchscreen with the so-called feedback or haptic technology. And T3 has managed to get a RIM-issued BlackBerry Storm underneath the lens for a quick unboxing. The screen is a giant button, one you have to punch for basically every action, even every letter you type, completelbreaking the touchscreen paradigm.

Surprisingly, it's got an innovative multi-touch UI (thanks to ClickThrough), runs on Verizon's EV-DO 3G network in the US, as well as any GSM HSPA 3G networks when abroad, so it's a true global smartphone.

ill bore you some more and tell you why i dont like it.

3.2 megapixel camera. wtf? blackberry always drop the ball when they make ANY new phone , wether its the BOLD or the STORM or whatever, ffs theres 10 megpixel phones coming out! why have 2 year old , substandard cameras in your high tech business phones... oh, cos e-mail on the move is so important to you! but its not really , as theres about 6 phones (avaliable in the uk anyway) that support push e-mail. in the uk release of the STORM, vodaphone have bought the exclusive rights, again, a fucking fail idea, cos vodafone suck tbh. add that to no WI-FI and touchscreen interaction only and no querty keypad (which made blackberry so popular in the first place), i think this fone may look decent, but overall, its poo :(
Samsung i900 > This shit
you aint serious? awfull phone, as are all samsungs really :( shit interface, crap camera, no built in memory, if you want a new phone, wait for the vario 4.
Parent
Crap camera? it's beats the shitty 3.2 megapixel camera, it has built in memory (wtf?) 8gb tbh. Interface, thats just youre opinion
Parent
for a 5 megapixel camera, its very poor quality. nowhere near as good as the N95/N96 or the new LG 8 megapixel phone. touchscreen only is notoriously bad, it gets scratched at all in any way, itll stop working correctly, and then its a lot of money to replace the screen, as insurance doesnt cover it....
Parent
My insurance does cover that tbh. and idc bout n95/96 or LG im talking about the blackberry.
Parent
try reading. you were talking about the i900, which is shit, not an opinion, fact, i gave an example of 3 different phones which had much better camera quality than the i900, replying to your statement, and i already stated earlier in this thread, how shit the camera was on the blackberry. and id check your insurance, as 99% of insurers will not replace a phone for whats called "superficial damage, caused by the owner".... so youll have to pay for a repair or replacement :)
Parent
Do u have any idea's bout dutch insurance? if not su. and i said samsung i900 better than the blackberry. i rly dont give a fuck if its worse tha any other phone. its beats the blackberry that's what i said
Parent
yeah, i know EVERYTHING about dutch insurance....of course i do :/ but insurance is the same worldwide... dont be niave, if they can get out of paying out, they will. check yer policy and dont be as dumb as i give you credit for :/
Parent
you're right, i should believe u instead of the paper i signed regarding my insurance. i'm dont with you
Parent
no ifi = instafail
