Hey guys,
I have just come home and i just have to tell u my day!
Tonight over here in Vienna something called "the long night of science" is taking place where many research centers, hospitals, universities etc are presenting some amazing stuff for the average "user".
My friend, my gf and i decided to move to Hospital Lainz.
It was absolutley awesome at least for me.
They were presenting a live Heart surgery with the doctor commenting everything and people were able to ask questions over microphone and stuff.
It was totally fascinating to see something like this on a living human live.
I dont rly know how to translate all the stuff to be done in the surgery but that man was in need of a new heart valve and three bypasses because his heart was already full of limescale and finally that surgery would save his life.
finally the surgery went good and the man is already on the way to wake up soon.
Actually i m studying physics and my plans have always been getting into medical technology later. Today just convinced me even more that this is what i definitly wanna do later.
Are there any guys out there on xfire that are motivated to once work in the medical business as a doctor or a scientist?
Finally i bid u all a good night :))

would be shocking but still nice
I'm studying computer science. There are a lot of interesting things to do with computer science in medicine... For instance, in the beginning of my studies some guy showed us a live 3d model of a heart based on ultrasonic pictures. It wasn't finished, he's working on it for his masters degree.. Definately very useful in diagnosing stuff! Awesomeness!
Stop this man he have a RL outthere!
