laggy mkv files

hälp :(

i've quite recently got myself a new laptop and with a new laptop comes a lot of new downloading and installing work :P

i've downloaded the following file "rsg-lacrash-1080p" (the movie Crash obviously) which is a .mkv hd movie and on my old system which was a very crappy laptop without a vid card i used to be able to play these kind of movies without a problem prolly because i had the right codecs installed.

on my new laptop (duo core 2.0ghz 4gig memory 32bits vista nvidia9300ms) i cant seem to get it to work properly.

i first tried vlc which managed to run both audio and video smoothly but then it would start lagging and although the audio kept going to video would lag behind every now and then etc etc

then i tried to install mpc and coreAVC which would allow me to run the video smoothly with mpc (no change in vlc) but the audio is only just noise. so i tried an audio codec pack or smth but that made the whole thing run in slowmotion (both video and audio) :S

pls help :(

rsg-lacrash-1080p
H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC)
AUDIO DTS 48000 sample rating

if someone knows the right codecs to download or the right settings to apply in mpc please help me out

thanks in advance

I had this very same problem on mkv files, and that was caused by Combined Community Codec Pack. I went into the settings of this, and unchecked H.264. Never had a problem with mkv files after that.
if the person that comes with the solution also shows up at cc5 he'll get 2 free beers! :O)
try using latest ag0n's video decoding tutorial
i hope you arent going to cc5, otherwise i owe u 2 beers:P

thats quite cheap, info?

dunno if u have any experience with usenet at all, if not then it's rather hard to explain.

try to google for it, the programs you need for it are FTD and grabit. the usenet provider i am using is eweka.nl but i am not sure if they offer their service abroad :P

try to google though, it's easy when u know how to work with it

ok i'll try to explain real quick. you pay eweka for their usenet service 1 month. they send you their server info and your login info.
then you download grabit and install. add a new server and enter the info from the email

next you download ftd. you install the program and register within the program.

then you update ftd and it will show you loads of 'packages' (movies in hd divx dvd format and games etc etc). you choose your package, double click it. it opens a new screen specifically about the package u just clicked. if u choose to download it, click on create NZB or just NZB whatever

then it will open iexplorer and it will show you your package for example:

[6539]-[#a.b.hdtv.x264@EFNet]-[Hannibal.Rising.2007.1080p.BluRay.x264- iKA]-[01/92] "ika-hanris1080.nfo" yEnc (1/1)
collection size: 12 GB, parts available: 32497 / 32497
- 1 nfo file
- 10 par2 files
- 80 rar files
- 1 sfv file

so check the selection box and click create NZB. then open with grabit and grabit wil start downloading

shit then i wrote a tutorial for nothing:P

well eweka is 7 euro's p/month for your own top speed download
Parent
You could get the same speed, or even faster with any random private torrent tracker, and then just use ratiomaster or similar to get your ratio up again.
Parent
Lol, thanks for the tutorial it helps, i havent downloaded from usenet in years XD
