VirtualDub Question

Morning everyone,

I'm trying to make some avis with virtualdub but I've got a little problem.
Ingame I start recording with "cl_avidemo 125" and end with "cl_avidemo 0".
Then I open the first screenshot with virtualdub and the rest opens automaticly.
I already heard the fps in virtualdub should be the same as ingame, so I go to "Video->Frame Rate->Change frame rate to (fps): 125".
Then I save it as an AVI on my desktop.
When it's finished, I open the avi but the movie is going really slow..

I think it has to do something with the fps, probably in virtualdub itself.
If anyone else already experienced this problem and knows the solution then please help me out!

Cheers,
Fex

you still need to render it with vegas afaik:D?
and as what should I save it so that the quality stays the best?
Parent
use image then record ingame with 25, vdub with 25 and vegas with 25, i dont know low-mid quality codecs, only high:[
Parent
25? Won't the quality be ubersucky then? :/
Parent
image records with 1000fps but only prints out frames 25 per second so its 1000->25 motion blurred frames.

edit: this is made with image, but its badly compressed: http://dec.pp.fi/avi/blabla/Q9450.mp4 (just wanted to try out the new processor)
Parent
and where should I say that I want to use/work with this "image" thingy? :o
Parent
I assumed you wanted to make quality, guess I was wrong..
Parent
hu? I certainly want to have video with great quality, I just asked you where I have to select this "image" thing? Because I don't really get what you mean with that
Parent
image is a program made by madscientist. check the tutorials.
Parent
thats normal, if you import it into vegas with the correct framerate set (im guessing you want 25), it'll be normal speed.

also, 125 isn't enough to get good motion blur unless you're using image or wrap
just did what u said, but is it possible that it's going a little bit faster than normal now? :o
Parent
no its because the avi file you create runs at 125 fps which your computer obviously cant handle, this is why it runs slow.

Files arent meant to be watched at that stage, if you want to see if everything is alright open it in vegas.
u need to set frame rate to 125 and then below theres another cross for rate or something, u need to put that too 125.
Could you check which on it exactly is? Because I see several other things about fps
Parent
Video -> Frame rate. then 1st. change rame frate to (fps): in ur case 125.

then below that in the frame rate conversion section:

convert to fps: 125

most important is that the cl_avidemo and change frame rate and convert to fps are all the same. then u wont get slowmotion crap.
Parent
ok, thx, and then I open a new doc in sony vegas.Which Frame rate should it have when I used 300 fps? (25?)
And as what should I save it there to keep the best quality?
Parent
and uh, I did what you just said (used cl_avidemo 300 ingame) and then I took for both the fps thingies in virtualdub 300. After, I converted it with Sony Vegas, but now it's like going uberfast :o
Parent
sry but i dont know anything abou vegas :D go #moviemakers.et and ask there
Parent
How do you make avi's then? :o
Parent
;(
can u help me?
Parent
Ask a moviemaker in the moviemakers channel.
I'm kinda busy with school :(
Parent
no one answering :<
Parent
thats cause 300 isnt a correct amount.
either use image, or if you really dont want to (dno why, its better in every way), use 200avidemo, 250avidemo, 500avidemo.. these are for 25fps.
Parent
But please explain me what is this "image" and where should I select this? I really don't get it :(
