Dear crossfire
My computer called its day few days back and I am in need of your help now. I need to get the best possible outcome with this budget of 250€. I myself know nothing about computers so I asked my friends for an advice. I will go to military in January so I don't need to buy the latest stuff since it is expensive and will most likely be "last season" when I come back from service. I'll recycle my old harddrive seagate 320gb, dvd burner and power nexus nx-4090 (400w).
So without a further ado, judge yourself and give feedback and suggestions for better alternatives, please:
2GB 800MHZ DDR2 NON-ECC CL6 DIMM
MSI AM2 NF520 DDR-2 SATA-2 GBLAN 8-CH
PALIT HD 4650 PCIE 512MB DDR2 DVI-I HDMI
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 5200+ AM2 (65W) BOX
COMPUCASE MICRO ATX, MINITOWER, BLA/SIL
This costs: € 235,65 (shipping inc.) from www.multitronic.fi
Yours? (Fins can give some feedback about that netstore if will)
Thanks in advance
ps. Will play oblivion and fallout3 with it, so the system should be good enough to handle them, don't need and want to play it with all the fancy stuff turned on
and if the vid card is as good or better than 8800GT u can play oblivion + fallout 3 @ ultra high
Recommend?
e: +asus mobo
I would go with a E5200 and a P43 mobo if possible. Switch out the 4650 for a 4670 if you want to stay in a similar price range. Get a little better memory... Kingston Value is decent... but here in the US you can get Kingston Value for $30 or some awesome RAM for $40. I would try and get a Antec 300... It shouldn't be too much more. It's basically a Antec 900 just a little smaller.
Your post made me to think of switching from amd to intel, thanks for it, if it actually works better! AND, hopefully those parts will co-operate nicely. Oblivion here I come!
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Asus P5Q-E
Corsair XMS2 TwinX PC6400 2x2 GB
Radeon HD 4850
Samsung SpinPoint F1 32MB 1TB
Pioneer DVR-215
Zerotherm Nirvana NV120
Antec Performance P182
Corsair CMPSU-650TXEU 650W
This is around 7300 swedish kronor = 720.76 EUR
You can get a cheaper chassis and a smaller harddrive but its a good starting point for a system and it has lots of expansion possibilities.
