Band Name: A Silent Film
Album Title: The City That Sleeps
Year: 2008
Genre: indie rock / alternative rock
My Rating : 10/10
View: A Silent Film have established themselves as
one of the most exciting live acts in the UK today. Following
on from gigs with artists as diverse as Mystery Jets, Metronomy,
Athlete and One Republic they are about to embark on their first
headline tour of the UK in support of their debut album
'The City that Sleeps'. Their sound combines the elegance of
well-structured songwriting and an attention to textural detail
with a love of contemporary genres ranging from dance and
electronica to rock and pop.

Band Name: Bridges And Powerlines
Album Title: Ghost Types
Year: 2008
Genre: indie rock / alternative rock
My Rating : 7/10
View: The members of Bridges and Powerlines met in
New York City in late 2005. Drawing heavily from a set of
musical heroes that included Guided by Voices and the wistful
Elephant Six Collective, they worked to set themselves apart
in the crowded NYC music scene. Their debut EP met with critical
acclaim, described as "a taught example of why should be added
to your list of bands to watch." (IGN.com) The success of the EP
attracted producer Chris Zane, who had helmed recent breakout
records by Les Savy Fav, White Rabbits and Asobi Seksu.

I would also take a look at Trev, bands called Brinkman and Pint Shot Riot. I think they come to the scene full on next year :)
Just listened to some Kings Of Leon's old stuff, really nice especially Red Morning Light!
I already checked pint shot riot, their songs are amazing, i like them and waiting their full release. brinkman is new for me... btw u have last.fm ?
Again a nice compilation of truely great albums. Although I am not a fan of Lopez, I enjoy the other two albums, but I gotta say A silent Film must get a 11, one of the most enjoyable indie albums for a long while now.
Greetings servooo
But which one is in your opinion the best Indie Album out there?
if we are talking about the indie bands mixed up with alternative wave then: The Shins - Oh, Inverted World (2001)
if we are talking about the indie pop era then: The Spinto Band - Nice and Nicely Done (2005)
and if we are talking about the best indie rock album of 2008 then: British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music (2008)
i strongly recommend them all :)
But I will listen to them, hope they are really good, thanks for your advice.
