Hi guys, I don't know wich one I should get :)
some guys say that dual core is better for games but I also use photoshop (my brother to be more precise) and a quad can be quite nice for that too..
So what do you guys think?

:DDD
get the dual if yu need for gaming
Far Cry2
Edit: my bad, ofc they support more than two cores. Meant that there are no games optimized for quad core gaming yet! You, dutchy, are correct >:D
GTA IV
Crysis:WH
Doubt about far cry
in the first 2 years all games will be made for duel :D
soon more games takes advantage of quad
this is an unbalanced time for upgrades imo, should wait 1 more month before purchasing a system
then check this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK36ytI_NkE
imo :o
most games that only use one core are so old they'll play just as well.
What are you going to do with your pc anyway ? movie rendering and some other design shit, or just gaming ? and are you going to play all the new upcomming games, or the old ones ?
E8400 €159,- 3,100 mhz x2
Most of the games do only support 2 cores.
But in fact the QUAD CORE 6600 will win this core-fight.
Since I'm also building a new system I will still choice a E8400 instead of a Q6600
So unless you wanna buy a dual and in a year or so having to upgrade again i suggests you get a quad and hf playing NEW games
Random Dual Core: 3,0 GHZ 100e
Random Quad Core: 2,4 GHZ 100e
So in some occasians it's not.
soz for caps, not bothered to re write
you obviously know nothing, dont make a fool out of yourself
Dual core ofc. Quad cores are for cf noobs whose logic is based on 4 > 2 thinking. You wont get any advantage from it unless you are into rendering. So if you are a basic gamer like most of us, buy dual core and save money.
my brother is a photshop user so quadcore is also good for him ;)
should have never released a quad :/
there NO 'huge' differences between E8500 and Q9550, switching between each process wont change your life, and Q is just a promise for life
currently every + is for duo, high OC, better cooling, more effective etc, but if you are playing on a very high resolution, i myself would get an Q9550, as the higher the res, the more GFX will take advantage over the CPU
in short: get E8500 and OC it, im also planing on buying a pc, but im not going fot the E8500 like i planned, instead im prolly having an i7, beats every duo, + its quad
what about Intel?
+ 2 8800GT can match an 260GTX

so it's being sold in the "unpopulated" countries?
so its being sold in "third world" countries?
I'd say dual
and an extra core is always useful, it 's not that u only play with ur pc
For gaming etc, you will need quad in 3 years or so. Then you only need to get a processor and thatll be 100$
dual core for gaming imo
(except that I upped it to ~3,6)
My case is the Antec Sonata III and I've changed the usual intel fan with an OCZ Vendetta (@ 12V) !
burn : depends which game... between 50°-60°
imo.
:D
