Music doesn't sound same on headphones. I got woofers and it sounds great.
I just got a new amplifier from a friend, havent had time to test it yet. my current one only supports 4 speakers and doesnt even have a remote :´(

Indeed, a good set of speakers and a good amplifier from a good source sounds better than headphones, but to beat a decent headset configuration you need a really expensive pair of speakers/amp/etc!

my current setup has 3 speakers, one subwoofer and the amplifier. theres nothing to complain about the sound quality and it works quite well as 2.1 surround.
if my room werent so messy, I'd take some pics.
And also remember that the DT770s deserve proper amplification, which your average soundcard output does not give.
and obviously I use amplifier between the computer and speakers/headphones.
The only speakers i have in my flat is some 10€ shit, but nevertheless i use them when i don't feel like having a pair of cans on my head
