The Dark Knight #4 ??

#4 on IMDB with close to 300.000 votes. (top 250 only counts votes from regular voters so the ammount of votes for it is even higher)

I would rate this movie 7 tot 7.5 tops instead of the 9.1 it gets now. In no way does this movie come close to movies that are ranked way lower.

At some points in the movie you think "yum, finally a good movie again" and you think that because of the hype saying it's the best movie ever so you expect it to even get better than at the point in the movie you are when you thought "yum".. but it simply doesn't deliver.

hype sucks.. in more than one way.

if there were good fighting actions with a lot of special effects, i would give this movie 8.0 points.

there is enough action and good effects in the movie. that is not what it's lacking.. it's lacking actual mystery, suspense and a groundshattering plot.

The story needed a more complex plot to which it would build up with a groundshattering conclusion. Than this movie would deserve a 9 in my eyes. But the way it is now it simlpy is not worth a 9.1 and definitely not a 4th place of best movies of all times.

if this movie would be like u suggest, it would deserve even all 9 points. Ofcoz there are lacks about the complexity and wider implications. but the first point for me is, to do better fighting scenes.

sure there was, but the suspense in this movie was spread out too much. Fragments of suspense. But to me it just lacked a better surprising plot.

the only thing i didn't like, was Two-face's face :)

Compared to the old one which is/was(?) high ranked on imdb, its way better. Also it's hard to create a pretty good plot for a simple good vs evil film.

I disagree. There is tons to do with good vs evil movies. Tons of movies made a way better plot than this.

got to agree about it being number 4 is totally wrong. i could think EASILY of 20 films , so much better than this to occupy this slot. its mibbe top 50, but no-where near deserving of a 9.1 . was a decent watch, but ive watched sin city, or saving private ryan, or the green mile , or, or, or (the list is huge)....so many times as opposed to watching batman movies mibbe once or twice at most.

The Joker character and Heath Ledgers interpretation of him alone makes the movie great. It has an interesting plot, although few surprises.
When I saw this movie I didn't have any expectation (lulz Batman, how good can it be), but it positively surprised me.
But I kinda agree though. I saw Fight Club yesterday, and The Dark Knight ain't anywhere near that film.

fight club is a classic, acting + storyline is superb. its a top 20 or 30 film i agree. watch SIN CITY if you aint seen that yet, its another classic. (get the directors cut if you can, the extra 20 mins is great:P)

Same here. TDK is an OK 8, BB is a strong 8. I got about 50 movies I rate over TDK. I dont care so much for the list, but would be nice to see it drop below The good the bad and the ugly and Pulp Fiction.

The Dark Knight, at least for me, was a decent cinema movie. I usually go to the movies only to see these Batman-like films, where's plenty of action and blood. The storyline aint so important.
This doesn't mean, that I only like action films, far from it. Films with a more deeper plot I usually download from the net and watch them at home.

true. with films full of action like this, you kinda leave your brain with the guy you buy popcarn + a large drink from, then you go and watch a good bit of violence and action, youre not there for plot really, its just entertainment.

I still cannot see the hype around No Country For Old Men

Acting and suspense were awesome - pretty good considering it didn't even have a soundtrack - but for that year, I preferred There Will Be Blood.

What is good and what is not good is mostly something subjective. I really enjoyed this movie and I also thought it was really good, but whether it belongs on that number 4 spot...I don't know.
There are alot of Good Movies as well out there, like The Usual Suspects, The Untouchables, L.A. Confidential, Fight Club, Snatch etc. But for me it certainly belongs to a top 15 list of better, enjoyable and good movies I have seen.

No country for old man sucked ass. Big time, and Javier Bardem's performance doesn't change a single bit of it. The joker is without a doubt ledger's best performance he ever did and sadfully will never be able to give an even better performance, but the acting performance of one man does not make a movie great.

I think it has the chance of making a good movie great, though.

i heard its good to see this film just for teh sake of seeing joker, the guy went so far in going into his character he killed himself in real life, even though i hate batfuck and spidershit and pokemon etc, i am gonna see this
