when you get to after story, i recommend watching it at the pace at which the widescreen airs, I couldn't stand 4:3, people were always half-off frame

it used to take ages before widescreen was released by the groups, but I've started doing it myself, and I'll hopefully be releasing every sunday

Uchiha Itachi was ordered by Konoha high counselors to kill his own clan, cause they were rebelling. He left only his little bro, Sasuke, alive, cause he loved him. He didn't tell his reasons ever to Sasuke, to protect him. Sasuke however ended up hating his big brother for killing their family, and eventually kills his big brother. After he killed him, he got to know from reliable sources the truth, and plans on revenging to Konoha.

Oh, and that is taken from the manga. The tv series hasn't reached that far on the plot yet, even though there's already 300+ episodes made of it.
